First person to go is Geoff Molson.
Wonder if he is capable of self evaluation?
If so he should fire himself as President and bring
in a proper hockey guy. then that person could assemble
a proper management team with the goal of building a real
contender.

Ya, it almost looks like he is treating the team as a Hobby ?

other than the habs, he's on a few boards, he runs nothing else.
Even his brothers let him play with hockey team, to keep him
away from monsoons business LOL, make ya wonder eh.

I belong to club 1909 and I get offers and other stuff etc.
Mostly I don't pay much attention to it.
Today they sent me last minute year end deals lol.

First time ever I replied, I am not buying anything until upper management
gets fixed and they do something about team.
they replied saying this would be forwarded and responded to by appropriate
department, LOL I didn't expect a reply, maybe its going in garbage can
but will be fun to see what they say if anything.

I have also decided not to buy Molson products until they do something.
I am sure my mini revolt won't change anything, but if a 100,000 Canadian fans did same
they would sit up and take notice. :)

Leafs clinched a Play Off spot last night with their 2-1 win over Islanders. Habs play Lightning tonight and Leafs play Carolina. Canadians must win and so do Leafs so Habs can get past Hurricanes and into 2nd Wild card Spot.

Go Habs Go !

Go Leafs ! :rofl

This is how close it is. Canadians would,t be sweating as much had they picked up a few extra points a few months ago.
[h=5]Carolina Hurricanes (43-29-7)[/h]
Where they stand: 93 points; second wild card from Eastern Conference

If playoffs started today: Would play the Lightning in first round

Remaining games: at Maple Leafs, Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; TSN4, FS-CR, NHL.TV); vs. New Jersey Devils, Thursday; at Philadelphia Flyers, Saturday

[h=5]Montreal Canadiens (42-29-8)[/h]
Where they stand: 92 points; one point behind second wild card from Eastern Conference

If playoffs started today: Would not qualify

Remaining games: vs. Lightning, Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; TSN2, RDS, SUN, NHL.TV); at Capitals, Thursday; vs. Maple Leafs, Saturday

Carolina clinched a playoff spot.

Capitals beat Montreal 2-1. Washington got both goals when the Habs 4th line was playing. With a physical Team like Washington, Julien should have put Deslauriers in and sat Kotkemeini out.

Blue jackets have to lose to rangers tonight and Habs must beat Leafs tomorrow.

Jackets will also have to lose to Ottawa tomorrow night, and at least one of those loses
has to be in regulation. Odds are very bad for Montreal.

Yup it really sucks how it cam down to this. I know they were pegged to be at the bottom anyway but to think it came down this close really sucks. Still not a fan of this format. It should come down to points plain and simple.

I have a buddy going to the game in Montreal tonight from Moncton. Could have been a total different game if the Rangers won last night.

As a Habs fan, something that really bothers me
is how many fans were just excited they had a decent year.
As a life long Montreal fan, when did we except average as a good thing?
I know how competitive the NHL is, even with a good teams its difficult
in cap era to win it all. But I think expecting your team to
provide a competitive team that's goal is to win it all should be
a minimum. Maybe I have been fortunate to see so much from
Montreal over the years. Can't imagine any fan excepting their
team to be average :(

Montreal and Toronto in final game that is meaningless
but should still be fun to watch.

Bob Coles last game and in Montreal I expect they will
do something special, which will be worth seeing.
50 years of amazing game calling.

My Habs are out but there's still the Qleague and the Mooseheads are in the playoffs, so I still have something to cheer for

Moose up 2 games to none heading back to Moncton. I will be heading to NB for games 3 and 4 if the weather cooperates. If anyone is around and wants to do coffee let me know.

Montreal finishes season with win over leafs.
At least they went out on winning note.
Poehling had one hell of first game with
3 goals and one in shoot out.

Happy to hear CJ was not happy with the season
Unlike MB he said we should not be satisfied with this result.

As a Habs fan watching Toronto and Boston is first rounds
means both can't lose in first round, but at least one will be gone :p

MCDavid had rough last couple weeks and nasty finish to season,
hopefully he's alright.

The playoff format sucks, but the 1st and 2nd round should be great.

Yea, very entertaining game last night, and I was encouraged by Poehling getting a goal in each period including the tying goal that forced OT and then the Winning Shoot Out Goal. So technically he got 4 goals in his fist NHL game, just like Mathews :FordSmile

Canadians finished Season with 96 Points and still missed the Playoffs. :(

In Western Conference, 93 points was enough for Vegas to hang onto 3rd in the Pacific Conference, and 92 and 90 points were enough for Dallas and Colorado to get the 2 wild card spots.

Well, there's always next year.

Looking forward to exciting Play Off Hockey starting Wednesday.
