2017 / 2018 NHL Season

Well one should wonder if they even should went on trip.
Considering they're history on these trips, might have been better
if they stayed home, forfeited. rested and practised. They would also save the travel
costs.

Rumours are flying if they lose tonight they will get stronger and louder.
Good question would be, should the let MB do anymore deals, looking at
his track record, he could take bad and make it worse Lol.

Wow what a start for the leafs. Can they keep it going? Time will tell.

What a start for the Habs.not much else to say. Brutal!!

I can't for the life of me figure out how in this day and age you can have 8 million in cap space and expect to compete with the upper teams in the NHL.

This early in the year you can't pull off a big trade....nobody is looking.....but in my opinion the Habs should have gone out and found that one or two extra guys to bolster the D or offence over the summer. Try to resign somebody rather than letting them go?? Maybe they tried and couldn't land them, who knows. Doesn't seem like a smart decision to me and the Habs record might be a reflection of that?

My 2 cents :)

Yeah nobody looking now thats for sure. I am not sure if they are really capable with this management team to make any big deals. They definitely are capable of screwing them up. Sorry. Rant over

sad thing is I agree. 1-2 years ago, one could have argued, still not MB team.
It is now, he traded, signed most of these guys. So we have 8mil in cap space.
But do we really want him doing more?
Likely sign another 4th liner to 5 mill a year of 6 years, arrrrrrggggggg

Maybe he gets a Bonus at the end of the year based on how much Money is left on the Cap ? Senior Management in the R.C.M.P. would get one for that reason years ago. The Grunts like me would be short staffed and the Senior Executive Officer in charge of the Division would get a $10,000 Bonus ! The only difference for the Habs fans this year is that in Previous years the Team would give us False Hope by winning 9 or 10 straight games, then collapsing. This year it could only get better, cause it can't get any worse.

Leafs won again last night 3-2 and handed LA their first regulation loss of the season. TSN has Tampa at number 1 in the power rankings and hard to argue with that. Hot start for them but some are saying they are a one line team. Leafs have been scoring with all lines.....thoughts??

You would have to think if the Habs lose to Florida tonight something big is gonna happen. What that is who knows but I’d say a loss to the Panthers would have to be the breaking point......thoughts???

Leafs are on fire that goes without sayIng.

Habs loss tonight? More than likely could not win against the Halifax moose heads or the Moncton Wildcats right now. So I would say a pretty good chance they lose again tonight.

I would actually hope there are already some big things in motion now and tonight may just be like you say the breaking point. There has to be some shit hitting the fan behind closed doors.

You would have to go on some crazy win streak to dig out of this one. Possibility? Yes. Likely.....probably not because there are so many things that are going on behind the scenes that most of us will never hear about.

But it is still early. There I said it. Lol

Julien mixed up the Lines, hopefully it pays off tonight against the Panthers. If they are going to turn things around, now's the time, before it's too late and they end up with the Top Draft Pick. Hey, wait a minute, that seems to have paid off for the Leafs. :FordSmile

Leafs have a hot team and some great young talent.
I think they need a veteran or two on defence before you could consider
them serious contenders. winning now is a lot different than winning in April.

Habs what can you say, yes they need a win tonight and a few more
just to get headed in right direction. Maybe this is a good thing.
I have said for last several years when they were winning, the team is not built
for playoffs and just making playoffs is not good enough, ask the Caps about that.

If they keep losing, or have a horrible season, maybe they will stop trying to make
3rd and 4rth line plays a super star, does it happen, yes once in a blue moon.
MB has signed 10 of these guys, great guys, character guys, every team needs a few
but not 10 or 15!! Really look at the line up and tell me how many top 6 forwards we have?
Look at defence and we have 2 top 4 and barley 5, 6 or 7th D.
Great goalie, back up so so at best.
Even if they start to win, what are they going to win with this team?

After 2 periods, Habs lead 3-1. 2 PP Goals by Galchenyuk and Weber, then an unassisted Goal by Gallagher, all within 1 minute, 35 seconds.

Nice to see the habs actually get some offence going. Some different people got some of their spunk back.

Hopefully we can get a few more wins happening.

Habs win!

Crisis averted lol. The “Gal”s play well and so does Price so everything is settled down for the moment.
