2016-17 NHL hockey season.

They play San Jose Friday , then an afternoon game Sunday in LA at 4 our time.

The Habs (34 Points) better win at least 2 out of their next 3 games cause the top 5 is close.

2nd and 3rd place Rangers and Chicago are a point behind the Habs , both having played an extra game, both are at 33 points..

Pittsburgh , St. Louis and Ottawa ,(3rd thru 6th) all have 29 Points.

So basically the Habs will be out of the top 5 if they don't start winning.

They played the 1st strong, then got run over and lost their cool.
Took far to many penalties. Now with 2 days off, beach golf and all the sun has to offer.
they likely will not be well prepared for Friday nights game.
Montreal never seems to do well on these southern west coast trips.

I think they still have a few players who need to go / be replaced.
1st or not, they have work to do.

Watched Pittsburg and Dallas play last night. Final was 6-2, Game not indicative of score.
Fast and very skilled hockey. Crosby's goal was crazy highlight reel stuff.

For the first time this season, Montreal is not #1 in the NHL.
With a win last night Chicago is tops with 35 points.
Montreal does have 2 games in hand.

Montreal faces San Jose tonight.
If the past record is any indication, could be a long night.
0-4-1 in last 5 starts, Price GA 3.99
Sanjose is on a tear and Montreal can't score.
I hope they didn't wear out their legs on the golf course
Because the only hope they have is speed.
Lets hope someone can score, this has once again been a problem.

MB needs to wake up, use the young talent in the wings or trade for some.
But solve it now :)

Last game Montreal won in San Jose is way back in 1999. So they are long overdue. Both of Mac Pacierety's Grand Mothers will be in the Arena so maybe he will put the extra effort in tonight.

Habs lost 2-1 scoring with a minute and half left in game.
Same as Anaheim they played hockey for 10 minutes.
Then Price kept them from being embarrassed.
Maybe its time they try something eh?

The west coast is always a tough place to play. Habs seem to be slowly coming down to earth. Price can only do so much and now the offence has disappeared

Yeah I agree. Need to create more offence. I only watched a bit of the game as we came in late from my son's hockey game which went to a 4 on 4 overtime and stayed a 2-2 tie against the top team in the league. That was pretty intense so I was all hockeyed out. Lol

MT has to stop loving players who did stuff 2-3 years ago and move forward.
Or be left behind, MB needs to see this as well. Loyalty is great, but in the sports world
you are only as good as your last win.

With Price in Nets, all they had to do to win the last few games was score 3 goals. They couldn't even do that . They were averaging 4 goals a game earlier in the season.

raw

Montreal is in LA today, game is @4pm.
they need this one, Tuesday in St. Louis.
Nothing easy about this road trip.

Montreal wins in a shoot out. 5-4 over LA.
This game, Ugly would be an understatement.
But neither teams played Great and Montreal
comes away with a much needed 2 points.

With the win Montreal is back on top.
The race is insanely close, top 10 in league, separated by 4 points.
16th is only off by 8 points.
I have been watching a few other games, the parity in the league is very close.
Even some of the lower teams are losing by 1 goal more often than not.

I believe it will be this way all year. It will not allow for major losing streaks
by any team, if they wish to remain in the playoff picture.

As fans, makes it more fun to watch and track :) Or harder on the nerves LOL.
