What did you do to your mustang today

Car back after suspension upgrade, lowered and alignment. It is a different car now!
Ride a bit harsh on some PEI roads due to current conditions, but on some recently resurfaced stretches, it rides on a rail! If I were to try to describe it, the care now feels and sounds connected. The throttle response is instant, braking is firm & all there and the cornering is pretty fantastic! The exhaust note seems to tie it all together. The best place to play in the last 120km of driving today was in the roundabouts. Tight and centered navigation with the rear end remaining stable. No sway, no play on wheel. The alignment tech limited camber to 1.4 with toe in of 1.1. Sounded committed to these specs as tire savers, not shredders, on a daily driver with plenty of responsiveness for some spirited driving. The tech moved the LCAs back up a notch to the middle bolt hole to releave some of the harshness in the rear.

Waiting for some pics back from the techs who did the install & will update my build page when I've this spring's mods completed.

You’ve come so far to leave anything on the table.
With all you’ve done, bottom hole vs middle won’t affect NVH noticeably one way or the other.
For best traction, you want the rear of LCA lower than front.

Flat cornering is result of sway bars and springs, but does not automatically translate to improved traction under acceleration.
Biggest influencer of traction on acceleration is quality and angle of those LCA’s.

Positive thoughts going your way.

Tks again, Marc!

Glad you are happy with your results Aaron. Like many have said the loss in ride quality over the bumps outway the other factors that’s for sure. Been there done that. Key is to keep it respectful for when the Co pilots do tag along. As well all know there is a fine line there and we have all heard the stories of the ones that have gone to far. I for one get way more seat time in the car with the co pilots then without since we both enjoy going on cruises.

Couple tjings.

JLT is huge improvement over K&N.
Exponentially better.
So much so that you should now get new tune (Custom highly recommended, trip to Pete’s) to take advantage of the JLT.
Tune that supported K&N is not enough for JLT.

As SVT4 said, BMR very good for LCA’s.
You say you have been replacing on warranty.
Are you running OE LCA’s still?
Those are sub par at best.
BMR have grease-able bushings.
Very well made.

I don’t know why your ball joints don’t hold.
I’m still on original ones on my 06.
CC plates are very good investment as said by Trevor.
Research and finding good alignment shop also good idea.
Does not have to be privateer.
I get everything done at dealership but always same tech.

I have theory on why premature wear of tires.
You mention you are running 20 inch wheels.
If you are still at OE overall diameter, then there must not be much sidewall to your tires.
This means they are stiff and have little compliance.
This can lead to increased wear.
As Gerry said, toe in on driver side could be interpreted as a bit high in comparison to very little negative camber on that side.
Opposite to this, your passenger side, has the most negative camber but the least toe in.
General rule, with high negative camber, a bit of toe in is good to prevent premature inner wear.

I share with you here my settings.
I run 18 inch wheels with more sidewall.
I get very good wear for having this much negative camber.
I have MM CC plates that allow me to have both sides pretty much mirror each other.

Last, you mention having Boss 302 springs.
These are substantially stiffer than OE springs as well as lower.
This means your OE dampers are not able to adequately dampen these springs.
This causes loss of contact between the tires and road.
Probably, but not limited to, choppy ride, poor or loos of traction, both front and tear.
Rear is easily felt under acceleration on rough surface.
The front, however, may not be as easy to detect.
Could present as understeer, and would accelerate front tire wear as well.
I agree with your thought of upgrading your dampers to address this issue.

So, several factors can affect your tire wear, not necessarily a single or isolated one.
I would suggest the Boss dampers as they were engineered for your springs, or, you can’t go wrong with Bilstein B6 dampers.

Every part I suggest here, I run on my car.
The BMR LCA’s. The Bilstein dampers with Ford Racing P springs. 1” drop all around.
Just got and installed front and back adjustable coil overs car sits a little flatter now and minimized wheel gaps again.. waiting for the ford racing control arms and camber plates to show up then i will spend the afternoon putting them on as well..
Also talked to many people and found a new alignment shop , so will get them to dial me in once I get everything in.. thanks for all the advise and recommendations.
Car only has 9km so far this year, just driven home from storage. Hope weather warms up and we can all get in some cruise time with windows open and tops down

It is looking good!!!

But you don’t want to go too far and be forced to trade in the ride you have over 100 K invested in for a used Nissan 350Z Vert and get only 18K for your trade like someone we know from a few years back ?
Many of us know who you're referring to, some don't.
I think that way beyond making it not fun with co-pilot
to co-pilot not liking the Mustang crowd. but I digress LOL.
