What did you do to your mustang today

Moroso covers going on today. Fuse box and brake fluid covers were quick & easy. Battery cover after work and coolant reservoir down the road. Lazy show parts. Last (i wish!) Go parts next week.

Refresh ceramic coat, deep clean and treat vert top.......then more shopping, I guess. Will have to wait for the Can$ to improve like everyone else!

And if you don’t everything spend every dollar in your annual budget they will give you a smaller budget the following year.At least that’s how it worked in the RCMP. And if there were substantial savings Division wide, the Big Bosses in Fredericton would get Bonuses ??

I remember one year, my District Commander came to me near the end of the Fiscal year and told me he had $25,000 for Police Car Tires left over, (I managed the Fleet for the District). So we stocked up. That DC had worked in HQ and was aware of their bag of tricks ?
Never worked a bonus job..... what are they, Fred?

Out for a short cobweb clearing today, gas gauge went from 3/4 to empty - data error message on dash. The car ran ok but stopped updating the km tp empty on the info display. Got home - went to go get the hand held scanner, restarted the car and the gauge is normal. Here is to hoping that is a one time occurrence!

I saw you go by topless, I had to use the truck to take Angie to Withrows today, I can’t get 8 bags of mulch in the Mustang

Brought the Mustang home last night and swapped out the K&N CAI for a new JLT , had to shave off about 3/4" all around the top of the box as hood would not close ..
Also had to replace lower control arms again.. whats everyone else running for these ? I've been replacing these most every year under warranty and my new front tires from last july are junk again ! Would it be because i can't find a shop to do a proper alignment and this causes premature wear on ball joints and tires ..

This is what the results of alignment from last summer . I have 20" wheels with a .5" front and .75" rear drop ..no track time, mostly just a cruiser

JLT is the best after market Cold Air System ??

And good luck resolving your alignment/front tire wear issue ?

Once again, I'm normally a Ford Performance guy, but much like BMR suspension goodies, I like the JLT stuff as well.

I ordered JLT oil separators for both sides of my truck, and the JLT gear is well built and top notch fit and finish.

Almost considering swapping out the FP oil separators on the car for JLT, the JLT cans are a lot easier to empty.

New CAI looks great. (y)

Couple things, do a little research on your car and find the right settings.
those parts should not wear out that fast, something is not right. research time :)

My car I had done first time at Ford, he is stock car driver and was close.
Car was fast on track but wearing inside too fast.

There is 2 settings for my car, Ford performance even put card in package
for street and track, But unless you go to track a lot, not chaining every time.

I did research, found setting that works, not quite as fast at track, but far better tire wear.
guy spent 2.5 hours lining up car.

I have maximum motorsports caster, camber plates. if you don't have adjustable consider them.
worth it and far easier to adjust.

then spend time, talking to car guys and find an alignment place, they are worth their weight in gold.
balance between wear and performance is always tricky.

Couple tjings.

JLT is huge improvement over K&N.
Exponentially better.
So much so that you should now get new tune (Custom highly recommended, trip to Pete’s) to take advantage of the JLT.
Tune that supported K&N is not enough for JLT.

As SVT4 said, BMR very good for LCA’s.
You say you have been replacing on warranty.
Are you running OE LCA’s still?
Those are sub par at best.
BMR have grease-able bushings.
Very well made.

I don’t know why your ball joints don’t hold.
I’m still on original ones on my 06.
CC plates are very good investment as said by Trevor.
Research and finding good alignment shop also good idea.
Does not have to be privateer.
I get everything done at dealership but always same tech.

I have theory on why premature wear of tires.
You mention you are running 20 inch wheels.
If you are still at OE overall diameter, then there must not be much sidewall to your tires.
This means they are stiff and have little compliance.
This can lead to increased wear.
As Gerry said, toe in on driver side could be interpreted as a bit high in comparison to very little negative camber on that side.
Opposite to this, your passenger side, has the most negative camber but the least toe in.
General rule, with high negative camber, a bit of toe in is good to prevent premature inner wear.

I share with you here my settings.
I run 18 inch wheels with more sidewall.
I get very good wear for having this much negative camber.
I have MM CC plates that allow me to have both sides pretty much mirror each other.

Last, you mention having Boss 302 springs.
These are substantially stiffer than OE springs as well as lower.
This means your OE dampers are not able to adequately dampen these springs.
This causes loss of contact between the tires and road.
Probably, but not limited to, choppy ride, poor or loos of traction, both front and tear.
Rear is easily felt under acceleration on rough surface.
The front, however, may not be as easy to detect.
Could present as understeer, and would accelerate front tire wear as well.
I agree with your thought of upgrading your dampers to address this issue.

So, several factors can affect your tire wear, not necessarily a single or isolated one.
I would suggest the Boss dampers as they were engineered for your springs, or, you can’t go wrong with Bilstein B6 dampers.

Every part I suggest here, I run on my car.
The BMR LCA’s. The Bilstein dampers with Ford Racing P springs. 1” drop all around.

Good Saturday morning everyone,

Any of you ever used Collinite 845 wax? Max recommended it to his father Elide and Elide gave me the bottle to try on the stang. You need to heat the bottle up in a container of hot water to liquify the wax before each rise. Very easy to use. Pretty good results. It has really good reviews. Going to add it to my collection. Impressed with it so far.
