What did you do to your mustang today

Since we’re talking “maintenance” and what did you do to your mustang. This weekend I removed the factory Ford mufflers and exhaust. Factory Y Pipe at the Catalytic Converters had the bolts in from the top side. Bugger to get removed! Removed Stock CAI and performed some detailing in the engine bay. Removed Coil covers, to paint.

They will be louder than stock, that’s a given.
Even the touring are louder than stock.
And will only get louder under load.

I don’t know of any aftermarket that is not louder than stock.
It’s part of the reason for their existence.

If at all concerned about loudness or volume, good rule is to stick with touring.
They only get louder from there.

Hopefully you like the tune (or song they play) so you’ll appreciate the extra volume.

It’s why I suggested to Rogue5.0Life! he consider S types over ATAK when he first posted.

I would suggest a generalized way of looking at it is to assess the whole car package.
Chances are that if the car is stock or only lightly modified, then exhaust louder than touring MAY come across as loud because it is a odds with the rest of the car.

In a way our cars are a reflection of our individual personalities.
A stock or mostly stock car reflects a somewhat conservative personality.
Loud exhaust is a bit of a conflict with that generally conservative nature.

More modified cars are typically better suited to louder exhaust and so on.
It befits the personality of the car and the owner more.

But, as the saying goes, there are always exceptions...

Exhaust well my pony brethren!

I put the exhaust on through the winter and I missed the final tightening on the h-pipe.Sounds a lot better now.

Exhaust is something I am going to have to figure out as well.
Gen 1 coyote, with long tubes and built to match X pipe, then
rest will have to be designed to fit Fox,
hmmm should be interesting to decide whats a good system
that I can live with how loud it will be.

Removed front wheels tonight, cleaned, detared and waxed inside. Question, since car is white with black top, leaning towards blacking out marker lights. $150.00 to have them tinted professionally (Carstar). I see CJ Pony has the Diode Dynamics which are LED. Does anybody on here have a good recommendation for a Canadian Supplier for blacked out LED Marker Lights?

Wheels back on, and slipped it outside for a breath. Waiting on Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust from DaSilva Racing. Talk about Loud, NO exhaust!
Spray tinted the marker lights.
