Shelby GT350R

likely 7am ish, but track time doesn't start til 9 or 10.
takes an hour to get there and I have a bit of prep to do.
sign in, drivers meeting and set up the electronics.

damn we almost need a pit crew :)
you should come and check it out.

What a great day, we headed out at 7 ish and it was cool +2
got to track around 8:30 and it was -1 hmmmmmm
Clear, cool and not a breath of wind.
We got everything ready and cars started showing up.
only about 17, later turned into about 20.
So they had one group, opened track from 10 to 12.
Now +6 I waited until a few went and then warmed up the car.
By the time I hit the track, there was only 3 of us on track.
took about 4-5 laps to get enough heat in the tires.
I gave her a good few laps and was shocked when I came in

I did a 1:16 WOW, my best before this was 1:19
I did several 1:17's car worked great, relatively new tires made a big difference.
rest of day I did 1:17 - 1:18's on clean runs.

Did 4 sessions, no problems with any of us. Great day :)

Glad to hear the rescheduled day went well. I saw that 0 des an the thermometer and actually thought about cold tires -

GT 500 wouldn't run with the GT350.
Actually one of the best Mustangs on the track
are the Boss 302 cars and if you have track key even better.

Fellow I know that has a 16 350 that owned an 07 , 12, 13 and a 14 GT500 , told me that he didn't like driving them when the temp was below 15c. No traction.

You are correct , the GT500 is a straight line car (maybe with the exception of Shipwright's 500) , and the Boss 302 and 350(R) would run circles around the 500 .

Hate to admit it, but another crappy day, looks like its time to clean the garage.
Wash the car and get ready to put it away until spring :(

I got another you tube video up of car at AMP :)
One of the laps at 3/4 mark is pretty quick, although hard
to tell fast from average.
