NHL 2021

Seems like the top 4 are set in the North. It would take quite a run for it to change I would think. Having said that anything can happen lol. I guess the big question is where will they fall?

On another note, saw a report flash on my phone screen (because I live on it ;)) saying playoff bubble could return. If that’s the case I wonder if they will change the current format? Does the NHL want a guaranteed Canadian team in the semi finals? We shall see I guess.

I have a question, if canucks don't play another game, does this change anything.
I know they are pretty much out of playoffs, but I noticed they put back winning percentage
in the columns, does this become a factory also?

!!!! Rant Alert !!!!

Montreal Canadians are a Mess.

First off when your General Manager and Coach dress like they are coming
from Clown school and ticket taker from a 1950's movies threaten is likely the wrong
messgae to send to players.

I liked Julian but beleived it was time for him to go, he suited to an older team.
WE know that Descharme was brought in for exactly the day that Julian was to be let go.
I beleived he might be the guy, works well with young players, progressive thinker, well
Looks liek I was wrong, his record is not better and the team is playing horrible.

Yes every once in while they show you enough to know they could be real good.
So is it the coach? or the Players? either way that means new coach or new general manager.
Something has to change, this has been going on for years, what are we following the leafs
road map, that means another 25-30 years of this ???

So limp into playoffs " Maybe" maybe play hallf decent and deceive a bunch of people?
Is this team real good with bad coaching or real bad with good coaching?

Few things of Note, I have seen 95 % of Montreal's games and like all fans of any teams,
the refs are horrible, far worse than than years ago, phantom calls, missed calls are unreel.
Not sur if this is normal anywhere else, but Montreal's stat keeper is brutal,
Every game they miss shots on net, for other team. Not sure if they think
it helps team when they look up or what, hurts goalie stats,
Last night Calgary had 7 more shots than Montreal,
which tells a far different story, including how great Jake Allen was in this game.

Montreal and its coaches really need to watch one of their games.
Not sure bad coaching or just wrong mix of players, I think the talent
is there but not working hard or together, WIth Bergron's moves,
Montreal has become much slower.

I like Stal, perry, but not first line minutes
Weber looks really slow and costing Montreal big time,
not sure if he needs few days rest, but less Ice time is a must,
I think he is great leader, but at 35 he's lost a step and young
guys are even handling him physically now.
( I remember saying we win first 5 years of trade and lose last 5 years)
In this case I hate being right.

Price has been at best average for last 3-4 years,
If Weber and Price are really done, Montreal has major problems
with those salaries for another 5 years.

They have 1-2 two years to make serious run and right now
they are having hard time playing 60 minutes or more than one good game at a time.
I know what I would do, but no one is asking or listening :D

You are spot on. We watched all games but a few really late ones out west. Personally I am a fan of any Canadian player no matter which team they play on and when the Atlantic Canadian players show their skills - even better. Allen has been refreshing for them. Price will never get a cup in Montreal. He should consider Seattle. I think he would get a good do-over there. His wife being from Washington might be a factor. Might take some convincing of the better half to change the plate on our Stang to a Kraken but never say never. Might look good on a Black 2022 model.

It does look like a top down problem to me.

"and the men who hold high places
Must be the ones who start
To mold a new reality..."

I will leave the next line out because I assume by now you are singing it in your head!

Bergevin needs a Haircut too ?

My Rant for the week. I waited 2 days to calm down to even write this lol.

Montreal looks pretty much useless, but unless Calgary goes on serious run
we should have 4th spot in the playoffs, big deal considering the team.
I beleive that most of the additions were good, especially Tofilie and Anderson.
But the regulars who have carried the team last few years and going south fast.

Weber looks slow and thats saying something for him, he was never quick.
I remember saying we win first half of trade and lose 2nd half, guess what, we are in the 2nd half.
Price looks average when playing at best, maybe truly done after concussion #???
We have about 9-10 3rd / 4th liners, like them all but don't need that many.

Coaching change seems to not have worked at all, maybe skipping coaching in AHL
was bad Idea, but young coach who was going to be good for young players, plays the old slow guys
A GM who is 9 years into 5 year plan, with 1 good move for every 4, Geoff Molsons bum buddy
does not bode well for Habs fans future. Trevor Simmonds, head scouts record says all we need to know about
him in the last 18 years. We truely need some serious changes, before we are 56 years in like the Leafs.

Ahh the Leafs, we can't beat them, after the first few games against them earlier in the year,
Matthews, Coach and GM whined so hard to Refs and League, Montreal won't hit them,
Hit listed is normal, but in first 40 minutes 2 hits and rest very light bumps and no one would touch
Matthews LOL, poor kid has it tough. Hard to have a chance if playing scared to go to box, which against leafs
they can't avoid and normally first to calls go to leafs, gotta help where the refs can :)

Refs have been bad period last year or two, but you know its Bad when they look
like they are being paid by Leafs and my wife says....
( who has watched hockey for 8 years ) says they called that ? Then watches
4 infractions in a row 10 times worse and they don't see that

It will make the Leaf promoters who call the game and speak about game between periods
happy if they get out of north division, likely Bettman also, but knowing Bettman, all bets off
after this.

If Montreal Gets to playoffs, I know I am dreaming, but if they could eliminate the Leafs
in the first round, It would be our Stanely cup, considering how bad things are going,
better odds to win lottery and like an idiot I will watch tonight. Although last game
I could only handle 38 minutes, had to turn it off.

This is not their year or even decade. Last good chance they had was the year Price was taken out by Kreider which ended that run. I see they announced today the Kraken can now sign and trade players. Maybe a good time to cut bait and head west for some of the players. Two more critical games tonight and tomorrow not against Toronto. They need them both as there are still 3 more against the leafs and Calgary is only 4 points back. Time for Caufield to make his mark too.

Cup Brackets are coming up soon. Boston's East group looks like it will be a tough battle for the first two rounds. 4 strong teams. Oh well. No option to go far from home on a cruise so another night of Apple Pie Moonshine and veg out in front of the big screen. How priorities have changed.

3-3 until late in the third made for an interesting game. Suzuki stepped up for a Habs win. A ray of light has broken. I get to leave the plate on the car for now. Good thing it is a Sho and Sto bracket. If things go south for the team it just releases with a pull of a pin and no sign it was ever there. Ottawa tonight.
