New Bronco

And the torque in that 2.7 is amazing.
It’s rated at 400 lb-ft in the F150 with 325 hp.
So it must be slightly de-tuned in the Bronco.
Anyway in the F159, it pulls stronger than the V8 from a stand still and at low rpm.

A really good match for this application, and reliable too.

So I was bored and built wifes new Bronco online.
I heard there was price adjustments and some things went up.
Well pleasantly surprised, wildtrak with lux pacakge went down $3000
Hope thats true :) maybe its Canadian dollar at $1.27 best its been in years.
Heres a few pics, unless I get change orders from boss.

Ok.
It’s basically a new Escape in interior size, general overall size and powertrain.
1.5 L 3 cylinder ecoboost in this one.
Quite torquy engine but a little rough due to being 3 pots only.
2.0 L four is a lot smoother.
But maybe a little rough fits a vehicle like this which is supposed to be more utilitarian.

Very good headroom, aided by step up in rear roof a la Range Rover.
Looks neat.

1.5 litre 3 pot engine is quite torquy as mentioned above. Pulls good.

I was pleasantly surprised by drive.
I think it is better controlled than Escape.
Not stiffer, but less body roll.
Possibly larger sway bars or something.
I liked it more, I think.
But I just went 1.5 km each way on a flat city street.
Drives well. No worries.

But the thing I noticed more from driver’s seat was the tall square hood in front.
You have to peer over it.
Way different than modern aerodynamic vehicles.
But as soon ad I merged into traffic, it disappeared.
Was not an issue anymore.
