Maritime mini runs.

I actually have one of those.
16 hp Briggs and Stratton 2 cylindre industrial motor. Like a Harley, lots of torque.
Decommissioned now after 35 plus years of use.
Doesn’t charge the battery all that well anymore.
20 some years ago, always had to boost every time wanted to mow.
It had a small, albeit stock, lawnmower sized battery.
Got tired of that so put in a car battery so it would start when you wanted it too.

Now they tell me 20 some years of charging that big battery was too much demand on the solenoid/generator that charges the battery and wore it out.
Apparently it’s integrated in the head(s) and not easily serviceable.
There’s no separate alternator.

So it’s collecting dust in shed, replaced by Ariens zero turn.

Oh that sucks. Hard to get parts for those as well I’m sure.

to bad your so far away, I have a guy, who can fix anything, but loves the old tractors and has restored a few,
if anyone could sort it out, relatively cheap he could. but its along way from Dartmouth.

Went to bed last night thinking it would rain all today. .
Watched F1 race this morning.
Nice win by Leclerc.

By end of race, sky was clearing up.
So took myself for drive this afternoon to beach in Charlo.

Gone about 4.5 hours. About 370 km.

Hadn’t driven this car since mid June.
Nice to reconnect with a dependable old friend.

Those last minute runs are some of the best ones I find. Glad you got the old girl out.

Thanks Roger.
Yah, that car’s got some character alright.
My wife doesn’t like it anymore.
She’s not a fan of windows down driving.
She finds it hard on the ears, and she has to do something with her hair.
Me, I love it.
Great car when I’m going solo now.
