Interesting how different the power delivery is thru that 10 speed vs the ‘14, it really wakes up that engine. It’s only 30hp more but feels like a hell of a lot more!

Most of us love to roll trough the gears. That being said the 10 speed is something else.

Martin, you also have the benefit of a set of gears in the new car.
The S550 auto PP comes with 3.55’s.
Whereas your ‘14 auto trans has 3.15’s.

You also have the benefit of a Torsen diff. with the PP.
Couple with the IRS, that really puts the power down with great traction.

Having said all that though, you are both right.
The 10 speed auto is a great transmission to keep the engine in the meat of its power band.
Very quick shifts, and beautiful rev matching on downshifts when slowing down in sport mode.
It would be a sweet package for a track day.

Note: sport mode is not so good in urban traffic. Holds gears too long and trans gets a bit confused because speeds are too low.
But on a fast curvy secondary road with tempo changes, it works great.

Yes good point on the gears Marc. Those would help with the get up and go for sure. I used to notice mine in sport mod was a bit quirky in slower traffic. I did get Ford to re flash it when I first got it and I found it was better after that I have sport mode set as my mode and it's one of the first things. I love the rev matching feature when on the downshift and harder braking.
 
Not sure if it's the same transmission, but the new ten speed was a bit of adjustment from the six speed in my '14 Raptor, much the same experiences that others have posted. The rev match in Sport and Baja mode is pretty cool though. Curious to see how the FP tune perks things up once it arrives and gets downloaded.
 
Final run of the season I believe today. Figured I would let my buddy join us. Lol.
