If your tyres aren’t making noise that’s the sound of angels praying for you because you’re driving on ice. Gerry Brymer Saying

We generally live in the same region of the country, but we don’t live in the same region…

I’m always impressed by the temperature differences between northern NB and coastal NS.

We’re far removed from the big cities up here so we don’t get the media attention that Halifax, Saint John or Moncton get.
(I think I got it right this time Mike 😁).

But those -30 temps that gripped the maritimes Friday and Saturday are common occurence up here.
Just media don’t mention it.

I took a snap shot this morning of the over night lows.
While we were at -29, coastal NS were at -5 and -6.
That’s a 23 and 24 degree swing in only a fee hundred kilometres as the crow flies.
Imagine the differences in heating costs, wear on cars at morning start up and general discomfort going out in those temps.

And the windchill values are there too just 2 columns over on the right.
It was -36 windchill up here this morning.
Not much less than it was Friday and Saturday.

Yup Marc I must say that your area often does show the lowest temps in the Maritimes, no idea as to why but it just does, cold stream or something?
And totally agree that we do not get much attention via media, they must just know that this is normal temps for us. 🤯 🤯 😁
I must say also that we did get one of the quietest month of January that I can remember, mild and with minimum snow coming down.
Well hold on now, 3 storms later and I don't know what to do with the snow anymore, back to normal I guess ?? lol

OK, Agina I will point out the obvious
You choose to live there, even if you were born there
it was the 20 century now 21 st century.

I can't afford to go any where warmer or I would be there :(

If I am going to live in that kinda weather I am going to
Fort Mac or up North where they pay stupid money to get people
to go there.

I am in the Mac. Now and this past weekend had -47 windchills -39/-36 without the windchill, But so far the weather here has not been as cold as I have seen it the past.

I saw pictures of people protesting at Halifax city hall yesterday and no snow to be seen anywhere.
And another place, kids banging hockey sticks on side of road in support of recently deceased young player. Again no snow in sight.

Hard for me to feel bad about that.
Not the young hockey player.
The lack of snow I mean. 😳

Nice summer views on a high open property.
But at mercy of wind in winter.

Long day Saturday grooming ski trails first thing in morning at -32 degrees.

Then afternoon digging out from Friday’s snow storm.
First hint of a good nor'easter this winter and since building new garage.
In hindsight, should have built a couple feet wider and put entrance door in front.

Have to do some digging just to get to the tractor. ☹️

Tractor is n there.

Wow . There is a good thing in this for sure you wont need to shovel the snow off your roof . We are having a big winter up here been few years since we had that much snow .

After a big rain and several hours it didnt try up, predicitions for it to barely hit aero at sunrize.
I guess the province decided to gamble, no many lakes frozen around here to go skating
But no problem on Provincail roads this morning.

Hundreds of cars in ditch, Having the pup trailer try and pass the truck was an experince
Fishtiling and going side ways is not as much fun as it sounds in one fo those
2 hours later beautful sun +2 would make some beleive it never happen.
