Crazy Weather events in your area

Hope Charlie didn't get buried in his tractor
Haha. Nope never got buried. But I know when I got home last night after 5:30 it had changed over to rain on top of about 30cm of snow. iIt made for a nice heavy snow that's for sure. Had to let the tractor just do its thing. No need to rush and break Shit. Glad I didn't have to shovel it that would have sucked. Lol

I went into work this morning and I ended up with a full truck for Edmundston and many points between.Staying in a studio room at the Grey Rock Quality Inn and feeling like royalty.Man what a room.Didn't miss doing the Caraquet coast at all.Staying in to stay safe.

Dug out my bucket this evening.

It’s under there in front of the power pole.
Drifts start about 5 feet high on the left edge of photo and extend 60 feet into the driveway to nothing.

Located it and stuck shovel on it.

Exposed it with shovel so I wouldn’t hit it with the blower.

Cleared snow up to it and around it with blower.

Finally free.
Those with keen eyes will notice no snow underneath.
We’ve had so little snow so far this year and a melt before Christmas that I had not needed it yet.

The pile of now I moved to get to it.

Relocated about 20 feet to the left from where it was and about 5 feet further back from the snow pile.
Should not lose it again there. I hope.

Simple answer.
Size of shed.
16 x 24 feet long.
Need 28 for tractor, blower and bucket.
So bucket stays outside.
It’s a bit of a pain but tractor sleeps indoors.
A good tradeoff.
Didn’t have tractor when shed was built.
It was built as a wood storage shed primarily because I had a Wood Dr. outdoor wood fired hot water furnace.

Wood Dr. now gone in favour of heat pumps.
Shed still useful but a few feet short of being perfect.

Ahhh. Makes sense. Kind of sucks sometimes I am sure but you need to make due with what you have to work with.

Yah, that one mostly a NS and southern NB, PEI event.
Hopefully everybody makes it through alright.

Although it’s hard to feel too bad for NS.
News coverage from Glace Bay last night and not one spec of snow to be seen anywhere.
Just something I notice in passing...
Ho, and guy being interviewed was just wearing a shirt. ?

Hey Cape Breton likes it, us folks down here not so much.
Looks like a long night. we will see 24 hours before it starts could go north
to our friends in NB :p

Yah, 50 km/h gusts all day here yesterday relocated snow from the previous two days from the field in the form of drifts right back in my driveway.
Like Roger says, was out for a while clearing around house and truck.
Sunny here now but will head out to clear the drifts.
We’re forecasted to get 5 cm overnight.

Not wishing any ill conditions to NS.
Remarking on difference in average temperatures between NS and northern NB.

Be safe everyone.

my prediction 31.8 cm, going to start around 6 flurries,
hard snow by 8 pm, back to flurries by 6 am, over at 8/9 am
winds gusting in 60-70km range. going to be dirty.

Temps around 0 to start -2 over night, could even be some freezing rain.
warms up to 0 tomorrow, then is cold rest of week.
I will be able to let you know how accurate my prediction is
by end of week, when they tell us official totals.

Oh and I predict 5-7 hours sleep between now and tuesday morning :)
not all at the same time lol.

Well on the snow, I think I was low, know in a few days. but looked and felt like lot more lol.

Sleep, I am on track, 1.5 hours and 2 hours today,
might get more than than 4 hours tonight, but not by much.

We got the 4-5 they were calling for.
Wind and drifting all day today.
Very light and dry snow.
Snowed at -8.
Going down to -23 overnight with gusts to 40 km/h til after midnight.

We’re entering a good old snap.
A cold snap.
You don’t have to shovel those but you sure feel them.

I would say 40-45 here on the level - Neighbors rear deck had over over 60. Two tanks of gas through the snowblower to clean 3 driveways. This was the first time I had to use #1 speed since I bought the blower 5 years ago ! Snow slides off the garage steel roof need to be addressed soon- has not been a problem but this year is bringing the problem to light.

The airport reported 50cm which is close to your estimate. Angie called the company that installed our roof to see if they could add more snow barriers especially on the back. We’ve had a lot of heavy snow falls this year

Minus 23 thats not normal, if I am living somewhere that cold
its out west where they atleast make stupid money lol.

-10 here tonight, but bouncing between -3 and minus 11
over next 10 days, so not a hard cold snap, but cold enough
for me, anything under 20 is cold in my mind :)
