2018 -19 NHL season

Leafs and Habs tonight, odds makers have leafs as heavy favourites.

Ottawa is trading aways its stars, fan can't be happy. Haven't heard form Phil on them all year.

Few days left till trade deadline should get interesting this weekend.
Especially for the contenders.

Another sub par performance playing 30 minutes of hockey.
Up 3-0 I knew it was far from over, after a very bad call it put leafs back in it at
3-2 you could see the energy go out of Habs and it was over.

Ottawa is slowly becoming the CBJ with 2 players traded there, is Stone next?
The playoff race is as tight as ever.

I only saw part of the second and third periods. Missed the best part I guess. As for the call the NHL reds to re evaluate the a goalie interference rules. You go out and play the puck behind the net, guy goes between you and the net because if not he would Plow into you, you skate into him and flop like a fish out of water and they call a penalty? It would have never changed the outcome of the game. We are seeing them call this more and more. My take on this you want to go behind the net and play the puck at this level? Be ready to get hit into a bit. It is hockey after all.

Andersen sold it that’s for sure. Having said that the NHL has been calling most (won’t say everything because we all know how crappy they can be) for the last few years. You touch a goalie and it gets called more times than not. Gotta protect the goalie they say. I’m not a fan of it. Play “outside the crease” and you should be fair game.

One of of the best moments I ever witnessed was a lacrosse game where a guy was coming in full tilt to get a loose ball heading for the corner and possibly end up behind the net. Had his head down looking for the ball and goalie ran outta the crease in towards the corner and just levelled him lol. That’s the way it should be haha. No penalty called on the play.

We had Our Two best Friends, Tom and Diane who are Leafs fans over last night to watch the game. We watched the last game 2 weeks ago with them when the Leafs Won in OT). Habs up 3-0 early on, I was more than pleased, telling them anything is possible, all the Leafs have to do is score 4 unanswered Goals, so not to be outdone, they score 6. :p

Yes Jason I agree. So inconsistent on the calls. Behind the net=fair game. I agree they need to protect the Goalies but there has to be common sense as well.

Anyway they blew it and your Leafs won. What else can I say. Lol.

Nice to see MB hard at work with all the great free agents.
We should be a shoe in for playoffs now, with signing of
Wiess and Thompson last week and we got us a Weil today.
Beast of the east now :rofl

Vegas getting stone on sign and trade for not that much was likely the best deal.
Some teams got some real good players this week.

Canadians have a busy week ahead of them. On the road to play Devils tonight, Red Wings tomorrow, Rangers Friday, then back on home ice Saturday to play the Penguins. They have a good opportunity to get ahead and need o get 6 out of 8 points. Go Habs Go !.

Weiss is playing in Laval.

Yeah definitely should make a difference. Lol

Hopefully no power play for us tonight. Just keep rolling the lines. Like Trevor said the other day, even if we get a power play just put your first line out like it was a normal 5 on 5 shift. Can't be any worst and they are used to playing together. Lol

recalled today, that should be the difference maker eh LOL

Yeah I saw that in the pre- game show. I guess that since the Trade deadline has passed, there is no limit on the amount of players as long as You don't exceed the salary cap. And that ain't happening with 8 Million left in the salary cap.

I watched the first 2 period last night and it was 2-0 for Devils when I went to bed. I was surprised to hear this morning that the game ended 2-1. Thought New Jersey was going to win 5-0 the way the Habs were playing.

Yup sad performance considering 4 of there best players were out of line up and next best was traded.
Geoff Molson will be happy he gets 8 million more in his bank account and sold out every night.
they keep playing this he won't see any revenue from playoffs, then might think 8 million was not good deal.

From what I heard is that any talks MB had with other teams involving Big names, all wanted Kotkeimene in return. he wasn't prepared to trade away their future.

Maybe but look at the stone deal, we could have done that all day long and better.
Imagine a guy stone on our team. or Wayne Simmons.

Edit: It has been Proven that Geoff Molson is cheap,
and MB is an idiot. with that combination it will be a long time
before our team will be a serious contender unless we get lucky.
A lot of guys having career years on the Habs this year.
Not realistic to expect it year after year.

CBJ seem to be stacking up to try to sneak a wildcard spot. McQuaid will add a dimension they don't have and will contribute as long as his glass jaw doesn't get in the way. He still has shot block numbers now as he had in the major juniors. Really thought the Leads were take a serious look at him.

Yes and they have enough to try and convince Panarin to stay and the cap space to pull it all off.

What a game last night between Habs and Red Wings, Habs win 8-1 on the Road, after losing their last 4 or 5 road games.

Shaw got a hat trick, his career first, Domi had his first 5 point game with 2 goals and 3 assists, and it was Tatar that got things started with the first goal.

Good thing they won, cause all the Teams that are chasing them won last night too and are only a point behind.

They are in NY to play the Ranger Friday, then Home Saturday to play the Pens.

Price was excellent, so I say if he isn't run into and doesn't have to stop 50 shots Friday, play him both nights.

hopefully it helps there confidence, because even with all the goals its
still only 2 points, they need to win more than they lose if they want to make the play offs.
even teams out of it, try and win, play spoiler.
