As a Habs fan, I am happy to see them playing better.
But their bad start got me thinking. Do we have a perennial mid pack team?
The NHL today is tough with a very good to great team, it is not kind to mid pack teams.
Yes no one wants to be last, but just barely making the playoffs each year can't be good either?
I believe with salary caps and demands young players put on being paid massive bucks quickly,
most teams only have a few years when really good. Exceptions exists, kudos to their GM's
Whats better, being decent and making playoffs each year, but no real shot at cup?
Or having bad team for few years, while you build contender and have 1-3 years at a real shot?
