2017 / 2018 NHL Season

Was solid performance from Habs Kid did real well in Nets.
He actually had a real solid preseason as well.
Hopefully they will keep picking away.
next 10-15 games will mean a lot.
League is so tight a bad week or 2 can really make it tuff.

Good game last night Habs were leading 3-1 with 2 minutes left in the game when Vegas pulled the goalie and scored. Was close but game ended 3-2. 3rd win in a row for Habs. They have won 6 of their last 8 games. They are catching up to Toronto, 3 points behind them. They play the Wild Thursday then the Sabres Saturday.

Habs are starting to play some hockey. I only look at how far away they are from number one if we want a chance to make the playoffs this year. Lol. Need to aim high.

Lots of time, but hard to catch up in
today’s NHL, everyone is so close
i am sure lots of ups and downs left this year.

Not me, he as many get paid very well for the roll he plays.
Coach has to go with odds
Of who will get the win.

Jason should be happy, the ref's called back 2 goals and awarded a phantom call against the Habs last night

Reality is the reffing in the NHL is getting worse and the attempt to fix certain things about the game is just adding to it (faceoff rules for example). Bottom line is if you are in the crease paint and touch a goalie the goal will not count. I have no idea what this faceoff thing is about. Just when I think I know who’s “at fault” when someone is thrown out they call something the other way. The coaches review is a good thing (or it should be) but there are so many things reviewable that it just makes it ridiculous. What’s the answer??? No idea.

I agree , reffing is a mess.
No consistency and no way for players
To know what they can and can’t do

Habs called up their AHL Back Up Goalie Zach Fucale for tonight's game as Montoya is on Injury List (upper body), most likely caused by the slap shot he took in the mask from Dustin Bughfin last week. Weber and Daneault are also on list where Price remains.

No Panic for Price to return before he is 100% with Lindgrin and Fucale. Hopefully they do as well as Vegas has been doing with AHL Goaltenders. So far so good.

Habs face Sabres at home toning.

Seen hundreds of fans from the peg here last night.
credit to Vegas the live music and events pregame were impressive
long trip to see knights win.

Montoya is now gone for a bit. Concussion. The way the youngster is playing there really isn’t any rush for Price to come back. Fucale is also a great goalie but it seems he just can’t get a chance to show what he’s got.

Leafs get their fourth straight and third without Matthews. Nice to see the other guys keep it going and put the puck in the net. Interesting goalie situation...sort of. Andersen has a few wins this year and has been good by times but his numbers are terrible really. McElhinney has been ok but fantastic last night and right now the Marlies have the number one goalie in the league Sparks. Plus they picked up Pickard so I hope they all start pushing each other in some friendly competition lol. Perhaps someone is trade bait for that much needed experienced and tough Dman??

Was reading a bit and funny how some players are struggling.
Penn's Sidney Crosby likely the most notable. Yes he finally scored last night.
20 games in and quite a ways back for him. Is it him or the team? or both?

As a Habs fan, I am happy to see them playing better.
But their bad start got me thinking. Do we have a perennial mid pack team?
The NHL today is tough with a very good to great team, it is not kind to mid pack teams.

Yes no one wants to be last, but just barely making the playoffs each year can't be good either?
I believe with salary caps and demands young players put on being paid massive bucks quickly,
most teams only have a few years when really good. Exceptions exists, kudos to their GM's

Whats better, being decent and making playoffs each year, but no real shot at cup?
Or having bad team for few years, while you build contender and have 1-3 years at a real shot?

Classic Original Six Match up Saturday Night. Leafs are in Montreal. Should be a Good Game, Habs better have a Strong start and play 60 minutes, before Mathews gets another Hat Trick. :FordSmile
