2007 Mustang GT/CS Vert

Max, there is a National network of auto recyclers.
Bastarache is a member.
Request that he search nationally or that he put a call out on the network.
If a dealer answers the call, then you can ask Bastarache to ask questions on your behalf, or get the vendor’s number and call them yourself.

Going place ti place is a waste of time these days.

If You run into a roadblock, there is a good one in GF.
DR Autoworks.
Matter of fact, he had a wrecked 2005 on his lot a few years back.
If they still do, the PCM from it might serve your needs.

Also, I believe you can get those from CJ Pony parts and the like.
Or Ford Racing.
The dealerships don’t deal with that aftermarket stuff so they don’t know what they don’t know.

Check online and if FR shows it, call the parts dept. at Wood Motors.
They used to have the SVT franchise before MacPhee.
They sell Ford Racing.

Good luck.

I agree with Marc, go to or call a place with the national network.
prices will be competitive regardless and could save you a crap load of time.
If any great distance, pay air frieght ( not heavy) you coule have in couple of days.

Local you can call on coffee break, but first call would be big junk yards.
Online you can do tonight. Good luck.

Allrighty. PCM it is. Brand new Ford part is a couple of dollars above a grand BUT, after 10 years, Ford don't stock nor produce them from information provided at my trusted dealer, and a quick search from them rendered no stock in the whole province. Sooooo here I am scouting junkyards to get a new (old) one. Got the two part numbers that can mate to my car and I am now on the hunt for this.

Other than Bastarache in Shediac, would there be any other good junkyard to scour through in NB? Being a critical part of the car as the PCM is, I think anyone can understand I'm trying to get as good a part I can get off the used market. If all else fails in NB, I probably will resort to Quebec/Ontario and if that fails, well there's one or two really big Mustang specific junkyards south of the border a phone call away.

I will obviously have to contact my tuner and also have the tune revised for the new PCM as it will likely not be the exact same strategy code and all (I can be lucky, but don't think THAT lucky). So that's another thing adding to this whole matter. Having a trip scheduled tonight to my mechanic to detune the current computer so my X4 is un-mated and ready to tune the next one.

One of the only things that helps the mood now is remembering myself that it is still cheaper than one, two or maybe three months of brand new mustang payments....

Stay tuned I guess
That sucks Max, fingers crossed you find one quickly.

UPDATE:

Refurbished PCM, programmed to the latest settings Ford would have for my car, correct PCM serial number, is coming to me with a set of two new keys already programmed to it in the next few days. The website says 2-8 days but I am not that optimistic...

Now the real problem is dealing again with my $/%?/$ piece of you know what SCT X4. Telling you, coming from the Cobb Accessport unit in the Focus ST, the SCT X4 device feels (and always felt since purchased in 2018) like a 1980's computer. Complete piece of ... ya...
The damned thing does not want to un-marry from the PCM. tried everything, even blew in the plug like we used to do with the Nintendo plug/cassettes when I was young. Nothing to do, I have error 110D5 popping up which bluntly tells me ''hey, I don't see your computer that's currently giving me the power to tell this to you. Are you sure your ignition is in the ON position?'' Damn right... This thing have done this to me already in 2018 being a month old, not wanting to flash the custom tune TO the car, now I cannot take my custom tune FROM the car. Keep in mind since last tech support call, I have detuned another time and installed the tune for the cams.
I am really, but REALLY tempted to try my luck with another device (HP Tuners, or other alternatives) but with the money already going to fix the real problem, I cannot justify chucking another $500 USD towards the alternative. The Cobb Accessport I eluded to earlier? NEVER FAILS, super quick, good graphics on the screen, you can actually monitor what the motor does with it (I was running it permanently on the windshield with 6 additional gauges to monitor the little Ecoboost's health) and not once has it ever given problem!!

Anyways, stopping the rant at this point it's useless, it's not like SCT is going to get a new device on the market that has better communications with the ECU's/PCM's just by reading me lol. And if you think I am alone with this issue because your X4 worked on your car, just do a quick google search with that error code and you'll find all kinds of treads of people having the same connectivity problems, on a ton of car/trucks types (SCT=Bully Dogs as well).

Will update once I leave early from work, drive BACK to the garage tomorrow during work hours and call their tech support, for an issue they have since the device was introduced on the market in 2014 (Yeah, CJ Pony Part's presentation video dates from 7 years ago).

Update to this SAGA:

- The company I was buying the refurbished PCM from emailed me saying they unfortunately didn't have the part on stock, but they would offer me a repair on my unit for the same price, but I had to send them mine on my dime. I respectfully denied the offer and am currently on the hunt to have mine repaired somewhere on this side of the border.
I have a lead on a company in Ontario that Hatheway Ford Tracadie used in the past to reman some S197 clusters, some PCM way back when and other misc. electronic parts. Will be getting in touch with them hopefully this morning to see if they will actually accept the job (fix my PCM, that is). If they don't I am in a little bit of a pickle. Nowhere in Canada (when using the national autowreckers web site) does anybody have the correct part number (s) PCM on stock at the moment. This is telling me this thing is letting go quite often lol. So I'll either have to find another fixer OR get one from somewhere else on the web. Ebay had a listing or two last week, and I'll be checking all other options if the Ontario lead fails.

In the meantime, the old girl is as alive as a roadkill...

Thg sucks big time Max!!!!Hopefully you find one soon.

The company you are reffering to its not Radwell by chance??

Max, don’t read too much into the fact that there are none available.
It’s not necessarily because they let go often.
It’s probably because they are in a vulnerable position in the car, ahead of the front wheel well, so the majority get crushed on impact.
Pretty much 100% of the time if it’s any kind of font end collision.
It’s probably one of the parts with the lowest opportunity to be recycled for that reason.

How do I know?
I asked the question of one of the national network members before.

I have not herd of this happening to anyone up here.
Among enthusiasts or at the dealership.

Good luck.

You know what? makes total sense. That thing is so close to the rad support, might as well be strapped to the front :ROFLMAO: . Never thought of it in that sense.

CCR technologies actually!

Bittersweet moment yesterday. Was finally able to get her back home!! It is not without hiccups although...

So few developments since last time. I was finally able to source one in a junkyard close to Sherbrooke QC after eyeing down the national recyclers website for a full week and changing the search parameters around at least 10 times. Bonus for me, I scored a JLT Series 2 intake for a steal of a deal. I know Series 3 exists now, but for the price, availability, I couldn't pass it up.
So last week, installed the PCM on Thursday night in the car and confirmed without cranking that it was reading all it's sensors. GREAT! Emailed my tuner (Torrie at Unleashed Tuning) on Friday night regarding the intake change (I knew with the pipe ID size change a retune was required) and got the tune revision the same night. Went to my mechanic's home to bring the SCT loaded up with the new tune file plus the freshly cleaned intake filter on Sunday. When attempting to start Monday, it was confirmed I needed new plugs, they had been so soaked with fuel that day plus the start attempts that it wasn't giving enough spark to start the car up. Eight new Champion Plugs were installed (for the record these were in stock and the plugs were again a no ETA item from my dearest near Ford dealer, so went with them, and crossing fingers they'll do the job). At this point on Tuesday, car is starting migthy fine and my mechanic took a quick drive in the village and came back. Brought him fresh oil and new filter to go with it so I can have the peace of mind the oil isn't contaminated with the overflow of fuel of the last snafu.
Took the car back from St-Antoine to Dieppe yesterday at noon. Everything (well almost!) run good. Finally, started, idling, running, power back! YAYyyyyy. Almost. For now, I am chasing a HUGE misfire when the car is under no load. Accelerating, it's fine, but maintaining speed (say 90km/h in 4th, constant throttle input), it misfires like crazy. I hope at this point it's still because of the fuel that's left in the tank from that day. Driving it back yesterday with new PCM, tuning file, spark plugs, oil and filter and still misfiring, I started to think it was actually bad enough fuel that day to cause some kind of hurdle.
Tonight/this afternoon, I plan on driving it extremely smooth to get rid of the +/- 8th of a tank that is currently left and fill up around $20 at a trusted gas station to see if it behaves any different. IF it doesn't, well, I'll have to dig back into it shortly.

At least she's back home and in some kind of running form!

Good to hear positive story Max.
Hope new fuel gets it done for you.

May as well do a new fuel filter to eliminate it being clogged.
Then if still misfire, consider injectors have been contaminated.
I cured misfire on my 06 when first got it with 8 slightly used, new to me, FR injectors.

Car was 5 years old when I bought it.
I always suspected previous owner did mot pay attention to fuel quality or treatment for storage.

Quick update on this matter.
While chasing this problem, I am scouring the internet in hopes of finding somebody somewhere that had the same kind of issue and got it resolved or started to get a resolution.
Found a case on another forum where the symptoms were very similar: misfire at idle, misfire at little/no load, can kind of feel it misfire when it happens and hear it in the exhaust note, burnt matches/surphur smell occuring here and there. All the plugs were tight and good, pulled all coils and quickly checked and they're good. Long and short term fuel trims are hovering just around the 1% mark, telling me there's no leak at the exhaust on the vacuum system. To note regarding Marc's post above, WOT pulls feels 100% clean and powerful. If the fuel filter would be clogged, it'd be there that I would feel it. I remember it from my 2000 Escort ZX2 when I changed that clogged filter around the 260K mark.
What I started to think about after reading that tread, and it kind of make sense. THE CATS. Hear me out. When the PCM failed, it wasn't reading the Fuel Rail Pressure and temperature sensor, so it tried to correct the fuel pressure by upping it, therefore dumping more and more fuel, effectively drowning itself up. The car was pig rich, thick black smoke and bad fuel smells to boot. Now that I think of it, when pulling it on the wrecker, fuel was coming out of the exhaust (see below picture), hence why I start to believe that the cats may be having a part to do in my problems....
Am talking with my tuner right now and will send him datalogs of a drive I'll take tonight, we'll see where that goes. But if I recall correctly, for my MY car it doesn't use the O2 sensors in the tune, which would make sense why I didn't have yet a check engine light flagging them up. For what it's worth, I'll also be looking at my cats tonight with an infrared camera, to see if there's anything showing up weird that way.

Regardless, the car is going in storage as is this weekend. I am done with her for the season and do not have the $ to chuck at it right now above what it just costed me if the cats are really gone. I'll take care of that next season.
Anybody has a clever idea in the meantime of something I am currently overlooking, I am all ears.

I just feel it’s a good idea to change the fuel filter every once in a while.
Especially where you suspected taking a full tank of bad fuel.
I change mine every 5 years, along with the plugs.

Some injector misfires you can’t feel either, even at WOT.
My issue gave me a code for misfire on a particular cylinder.
Of course, the tech jumped to conclusion and changed the coil.
Issue still there.
Change plug.
Issue still there.
Now do that test that I described before.
That revealed injector as culprit.
Change of injector.
All is fine, no more codes and Bob’s your uncle.

However upon trying to tune the car on dyno afterwards with some new parts, would not tune right.
Small misfires that did not throw codes but tuner could tell they were there.

I advised of my earlier issue with one particular injector.
Tuner did not waste any time.
Grabbed 8 slightly used FR injectors of the back parts shelf and put those in.
Car tuned right up and laid down good numbers.

I’m thinking your tuner should be able to talk you or your mechanic through a way to eliminate or confirm catalytic as trouble.
Cars can run without cats.
That’s what off road setups are.
Just need to remove or swap O2 and exhaust sensors, with appropriate instructions to computer, to bypass or simulate cats being gone.
See if that changes anything.

I wish you luck with that.

If you do conclude, next year, that cats are faulty, be opportune time to do long tubes with high flow cats.
They would maximize the output of your cams.

Filters are cheap and I change the often, fluids are also cheap, I change that often as well.
My 08 had problems after installing SC and checked coils, all checked out according to computers at Ford.
Could find miss, starting changing one at a time, sure enough one was bad, computer siad it was ok, but ahh NO.
I changed them all.

I agree with Marc, between tuner and Mechanic, they should be able to sort out.
I get the $$$$ but even if not fixed now, I would need to know problem before putting away lol
Long winter of driving you crazy LOL. find the problem and fix in spring IMO.
