new e-mustang

The Maritimes isn’t really their Target Audience, I doubt you will see many in these parts.
maybe, its a year away and they installed over 300 charging stations in NS this summer,
with more planned for future, Gov money for all of this stuff right now, including $8000 in rebates.
get ready for another tax increase, someone has to pay for it :(

It has the Mustang name, but no way an electric SUV is aimed at the typical Mustang buyer.

I personally could care less what they call it, my Mustang has eight cylinders and looks and sounds like a Mustang should, and I have no plans to buy the SUV anyway, no matter what they call it .

Similarily, I thought putting the Ecoboost in the Raptor was a big mistake, I don't care if its got 40 more horsepower and weighs 700 lbs less and outperforms the first gen 6.2L, it sounds like a leaf blower......thats why I'm still driving my 6.2L and don't care to buy a new one.

I eluded to this in the beginning, when it was official what they named the EV.
They could continue with normal SUV's, trucks etc.
What will happen to the Mustang brand, not sure the future will tell us.

I would be certain it makes Mustangs not special, unless you have something exceptionally Unique.
IE: 1969 Boss 429. Or a 1967 GT500E etc, etc.

SO what happens to guys like us? might be a better question.

Totally right. It's just sad a Ford thinks it's good to ''build'' on the name Mustang since it's been there forever and have such a big following instead of creating an EV family in it's own right.... I agree, a Mustang should remain a Mustang, not begin to have awkward step sons...

couple of examples. In HRM
the have a NEON club, the have a G6 club ( pontiac)
nothing special about these cars, they are folks who mod them
and started a group, not much different then ricers of different manufactures.

Mustang is an Iconic brand, you can buy a Mustang and do nothing to it
and you have something special. That could all go away very quickly.

The way I see things, if the Mustang name goes on the new 4 door Electric Car, our V8 2 door Mustangs will Rock more than ever.
you may be correct, but talk to hard core, old school dodge guys, they won't touch the new stuff.
they think it left there heritage of bad ass 2 door muscle cars. We all know the new cars are fast
much like newer Mustangs over their 60's counterparts.

Even Chevy with all of their issues over the years, don't have a 4 door corvette or 4 door camaro.
Ask what chevy guys think of what they did to Nova? GM brass learned from that I think.
I wonder if the arrogance if the Ford Brass has made them think the Mustang is unaffected, by what
they do, we can do anything and survive it. Might be true, one hell a risk if you ask me.

Not too sure if GM learned.... let's just say the new Blazer is FARRR from what the blazer used to be as well .... Seems like a trend now, the names that worked and the people know are brought back to boost up sales (at least that's what they have in mind...)

I agree with you, it's not the 1st time i hear about the thru hardcore mopar fans not touching the new stuff... don't blame them with the Charger growing two more doors ... hopefully that trend doesn't proliferate like a virus ....

Funny I think I might have been able to live with an electric Mustang.

What they did was way worse, in one foul swoop, SUV, EV, 4 Door.
Hand it to Mustang Brass, when they F#$@ something up, they
go big.

Don't Worry :) Electric Mustang will be coming as well. :) If sema show is to be taken for a glimpse to the future, it at least looks promising. Ford teamup with Webasto gave us a nice concept to look up to: 900hp, 1000lbs/ft, 6 speeds manual... Sign me up anytime!! (well, going to be expensive, so I will not be able to really sign up lol :ROFLMAO: ) *** They do say in the article it was going to be a one off and an exercise to test collaboration in the future.

you think its nice, if you have a sewing machine or someone in the family does, turn it on
wind it up full speed, thats your new EV mustang lol.
not sure AM sells upgraded exhaust for that.
likely pump it in via stereo lol.

There you go, pump the exhaust sounds through the stereo, you could drive an Ecoboost Mustang one day, play a GT350 the next day and a Ford GT the day after that.
