Tire treatment suggestions

After trying many products I settled on this, made by Chemical Guys and available at many places including Walmart, Amazon, and Canadian Tire. I put it on with a sponge. Also works well on vinyl and plastic.

VRP is one of the few Chemical Guys products I find worth their price. You need to work it in a little I prefer a brush ( paint brush, chalking brush) to get it in all the grooves and sidewall designs. Let it sit for a little while 10 minutes or so, then give it a wipe with a microfibre towel. This will stop it from slinging .

I don't like putting anything on my sidewalls,
don't want it possibly working its way to the tread surface.
But I don't run same tires as most and tend to like corners, soooo.

I wash car, wheels and tires, I have cleaned sidewalls with glass cleaner
then wipe off, gives them clean look, no shine,
I don't want shine on the car, where as I like it on my truck.

Thank you everyone.
See that’s why I asked.
Great response.
Good input.
Wash day is tomorrow I hope.
Figure I can do a quick wash.
Tire shine is one of those things my favourite is a product from CarPro called Darkside but it’s rather expensive and some people don’t care for the high gloss. It’s a solvent based product so it last 4-6 weeks and it’s considered a tire sealant.

Chemical Guys VRP is a good product (actually good surprisingly from CG) that is readily available in any Canadian Tire nearby.

Above CarPro Darkside suggestion is closer to a ''coating'' for your tire than a tire shine. It would be lasting a few washes, but require a little more prep to apply if you want to really have it perform as it should.
A great option that I have to try this summer that a lot of people rave about is CarPro Pearl diluted 1:1.
Another option that I do gravitate towards currently is Clean by Pan Tire Dressing. Works very well. Lasts between 3-4 washes on my work truck in the dead of winter.

For anything other than the Chemical Guys VRP I stated in this post, the CarPro or Clean by Pan options need to be ordered in. I've added links below, but i am not responsible to what that does to your wallet.

Happy detailing ;)

Pan is a smart man making a killing.
But who on YouTube isn’t a sellout?
Joshvtm or whatever says every thing he gets to test is great.
Two dead Ryobi pressure washers after 5 minutes use is my personal proof.

100% if they get it for free it’s the cats ass lol. I do enjoy Dogma channel though he seems objective for the most part. When Pan recommended the Suds lab stuff from Walmart is when I kind lost it for him. That stuff is terrible, but packaged to look professional.

Late to the game on this thread, but I'll throw another choice into the discussion.

Tire cleaners and treatments are like waxes....not everything is going to be right for everyone.

Best you can do is find the one that suits your detailing style and gives the results you're looking for.

Previously I was a Zaino junkie, but recently I've been trying Sonax stuff, and I think I hit a combination I really like.

The tire cleaner does a great job of stripping away any of the old treatments.... you know, the brown residue on the sidewalls after washing.

I'm not sure how Sonax can pull off a detail spray thats good for tires and for wheels, but I'll be damned if it doesn't work well on both.

I want a low gloss, "natural" look to the tires.

I'll use my truck tires as the example , lots more sidewall. lol

The spray works well on the BFG's, because it gets into the lugs, easy to apply and just wipe it down after.

Easy to use and not overly time consuming, but expect to touch it up every few washes, depending on how picky you are. Does a nice job of maintaining the look , and I've found very little to no slinging of product, but that depends how well you wipe it down and how long the truck sits after you apply it. Generally pretty good in my opinion.

Add the Sonax wheel cleaner to get rid of brake dust, and it's an effective combination.

Not whoring for Sonax Canada, but they ship super fast out of Mississauga.
