Thought of the day.

Quick reminder to those in the Moncton area, we have our JDI Show and Shine event, 11am to 1.30pm today, at 100 Midland Drive, DIEPPE, with bbq, silent auction, fun and games, while you cannot enter your vehicle, you are most welcome to drop by and help us raise money for the United Way.

She studies 3-4 hours day and is going to school.
She is level 6 speaking, level 4 reading and level 2 writing.
to give you base line, level 9 is University ready.
She will be fine. She is excited and can't wait to
get the process started, even then its a lot of paper work
and time.

I worked 3/4 of day sooo missed out on nice weather drive.
Be kind folks post some pics of Mustangs, shows, cruises etc.

Well not a show or cruise but trip to Pickering and track day at Mont-Temblant on Thursday on the way back.
All loaded and ready to go last Saturday. Left Sunday morning because had appointment for Monday morning.
See "What have you done to your Mustang today?" thread for details on work done to car.

Car ran great at the track. First two sessions on wet track.
Light rain/mist during first session. Spotty mist during second session.
Track started drying during third session. We were alternating 20-25 minutes sessions with the racing school.
They use Formula Ford cars for the school.
After lunch track was all dry. Three good sessions in afternoon.
Rubber had been washed away but dry track.
Nine cars total were lapping.
3 Porsches, one of which was a 911 GT3 or GTS, full roll cage and adjustable rear wing. The orange one. Fast car!
1 Corvette, 2 BMW's father and son, an M-4 and M-2. The M-2 was quicker than the M-4.
1 Honda Civic type R. He was fastest on wet track. Former instructor at the school. He knew track like back of his hand. Then the orange Porsche took over once it dried up.
And 2 Mustangs. Mine and my cousin's 2015 EcoBoost track pack manual shifter.
I drove it for one session. Man is the independent suspension way ahead of our old solid axle setups on the S-197's.
Every car there turned corners better than my car.
I need to find a track event with only solid axle cars to feel good again.

Wet start to the day. Formula Ford school car in background.

Lineup of cars in pit lane after lunch.

Rest of cars. Cousin's 2015 is first. That crazy fast Porsche is right behind my car here.

Just curious what the day cost you in terms of registration and any other fees?

The cost for lapping is $425.00 plus tax per day.
I also got some on track insurance. That cost me $350.00 plus tax minimum premium.
It covered the amount of the appraisal I had done last summer of $41,500.00 with a deductible of $4000.00.
I think it would have covered a higher value but that's all I can justify.
If you know you're going to attend more than one day in the season, you can insure all dates in one shot but the minimum premium they will collect is $350.00.
They cover a whole bunch of tracks in Canada, including AMP.
You also require a minimum SA 2005 helmet. Figure $350.00 - $400.00 and up for a decent open face one.
In order to be able to lap, you must have done their one day driving school first as a prerequisite.
Or provide them proof that you have equal or better experience.
That is also $425.00 plus tax for the school. You just need to do the school once.
Then you can lap as often as you want.

Cool. So for a newcomer like myself, I'd be looking at a total in the range of $1200 for helmet, insurance and a couple days at the track (one for course, one for lapping).

You got it.
There is something to be said for having a track about an hour away for you guys.
But check out the areal view of Mont-Tremblant.
4.26 km or 2.65 miles, 15 turns, immaculate pavement, rooftop spectator terrace, Fomula One raced here before... It's a nice experience.
