Thought of the day.

You new tractor owners are gonna need to get one of those excavator attachments in the spring. Boys with toys love to dig holes! Would be pretty cool to see one in action. I've been tempted to rent a mini excavator for a weekend just to play. Maybe dig a hole for a swimming pool or just go make holes. Then play with a trencher. I've got a building about 75' from the house I'm thinking about running buried cable to. One of those would do a great job. A trailer hitch on your Mustangs, grab a trailer and come play on our Island. I'll pay the gas & bridge toll:rolleyes:

Funny you say that, I have no interest, but I have run this stuff for ever,
its work for me, But I can't count how many home owners have rented machines
for the weekend, get a 1/4 of the work done, call us, we finish it for half of what they paid to
rent one, but to a man they still had fun renting one, like kids LOL.

As a matter of fact yep. Pulled the trigger on this thing about 2 weeks ago and was waiting for the snowblower to come in and get installed which was done this morning. Now it's sitting in Salisbury waiting for a way to come up, I'm working, they are crazy busy so we just have to work it out ?? 2015 Kubota with only 180 hrs and brand new snowblower so should be good for awhile.

Congratulations Roger, an Impressive looking machine, and with a cab to boot. Certainly a good investment in your neighborhood.

Thanks Phil and Roger for showing us your compact tractors. Now u got me thinking I should get rid of all my junk and get a compact tractor also.If my bride asks me where I got that idea, u know who's names are coming up lol,.

Ouch, think I'm gonna change my name...........actually it was really Phil who started the whole thing wasn't it ?? lol

I first looked at a John Deere at Good's in Charlottetown and think it's still there ?? People there were really nice and seemed honest to deal with but that tractor didn't look as clean as I would have liked it to be so I kinda stepped back for a bit and found this one. That Deer only had 241 hours on it for a 2012 though so I would think that with a good cleaning and some up keep it would probably be a nice one if price was brought down a bit ?? That's in your neck of the woods now there M. Festus ..........;);)

I now have way more space than urban lots so can spread snow around more.
However, the northwest wind still hits my driveway pretty bad and causes drifts if I simply leave a 3-4 foot wall from the blower.
So this weekend I took a page from firefighting.
They say fight fire with fire.
I tried fighting snow with snow.
In the absence of snow fencing or trees to catch snow and mitigate wind, I built a snow wall on the west side of driveway.
Stacked it 8-10 feet high with the loader.
It worked great. Caught the snow, disturbed the wind and middle of driveway stayed clear in the high wind.
Still had some drifting in my entrance through tree plantation but that was not so bad.

I share this sentiment too. It's not play.
It's more like unpaid labor, or a necessary unpleasantry (not to say evil).
Growing up on farm, been there and done that enough before.

Nice groomer. Years ago they used to make the ski tracks as well. Do they not do that anymore and just give a flat surface??

After the winds finally died down Wednesday afternoon, I went and did my part for the local community.
Groomed the ski trails out of a blank canvas.
Lots of debris from trees and even drifting in the woods.
Never seen it that bad before.
