This 2025 driving season worked out at 15,200 km. I’ve had the car 17 years now and driven it almost 265,000 km - yearly average- 15,500. So this year was almost normal!

Awesome!!! That’s a great average.

These pictures look a lot like 2019 - Pinion seal leak - axle seal leak and a bit of gear wine added up to winter works project now in process

Diff out and apart

Time to make some measurements - Axle end play was good @ .020" each end, Backlash was larger than i had expected -Measured out to .014". The pinion bearing preload was also quite low. The pattern was higher ( toward heel) on the teeth than i wanted but these numbers help explain the small whine above 60mph.

Clutches look good -They will go back in - RH axle showing more wear on the bearing surface so 2 new axles- new axle bearings - Axle seals - Pinion - pinion seal - carrier bearings and yes Marc -- 3.73's are here for install this time !

Time for tool and parts clean up and then start the rebuilding process

you will love the extra bit of pull,
without giving up too much RPM
on highway runs.

for the axle if not sure what to buy moser axle are a good choice but might have other brand good but I did mine with moser axle so am ready for more Power and very happy with them.for me was was good choice.

You will love the 3.73's Gerry, Loved my 100%. The difference in RPM on highway cruising is very minimal and actually gets the car out of the little drony zone that's there around 110 115, so it's all positive

It’s been a busy couple of weeks - not much time for car stuff when sitting in a hotel room in another province. Finally got everything in the axle and it’s back in one piece, now to get it back under the car and hope for a quiet set up when it’s driving time.

Loooking good, see got time for some paint to make pretty again.

Yes. The paint can made an appearance - I cleaned up the shocks and lower control arms while I was there as well . Got axle back under the car and bolted in. Still have driveshaft -rear sway bar and brakes to finish before it gets back on the ground
