This may be an easy one but we'll give it a go anyway. It stays within the V-8 them.
The 289ci displacement V-8 is very well known, respected and sought after for originality in early Mustangs.
Shelby added to its legend by hot rodding it and running it successfully in the GT-350 and Cobra.
In fact many believe it to be the first V-8 in the Mustang, but it was not.
From introduction on April 17th to the fall of 1964 it was another V-8 that was available, along with a straight six as the only two engine options.
Question is: what was the displacement of this first available V-8?

First year was 79, not sure how many years, I'll guess 79, thru 82.

I just remembered the 84 SVO Mustang and think they were built for 2 years.
So My Final Answer is 79 thru 86 for a total of 8 years on that run. :FordSmile

Trueblue remembers an 84 , I remember an 85 . I do believe this was a 2 year run so. I'll say 84 and 85 SVO's only
