Maritime mini runs.

About 1600km in the last week. Felt good to be on the move again. PEI last weekend, then Fredericton for the week, my black car does not look nearly as good ! Mother nature tried washing it yesterday on the drive home but only used high flow water - no soap so I still have work to do.
I'm really disappointed in how much standing water there was even on the freshly paved sections of highway. Did someone forget how to dial in a bit of slope ? Be careful Hydroplaning is real even at low speeds our wide tires are not fun in those downpours

Did a small run on Sunday……. About 6 hours of seat time, excluding stops. Lots of nice coastline, dinner at Murphy’s Fish & Chips in Truro, onto Masstown, which looked like it had been invaded by locusts (shelves were bare), then onto Parrsboro. There is a really good driving road as you approach Parrsboro from Masstown.

An awesome couple of hot days here in the Moncton area this weekend. A rare occasion for us we got out in the car both days. Yesterday we went towards Sussex, Cambridge Narrows, Cole's Island and then back to Moncton for supper. Today we did the coastal run around St Maries, Bouctouche and Cocagne similar to what we have done on some of the Friday night Nationals runs. Lots of people out and about. Great to see.

It is good to get back on the road again
Not a Maritime run but Eastern Canada, left home Saturday am, by the time the day was done I was across 3 more borders, NB, Quebec and Ontario.and covered 1350 km in 13 hrs of driving. I drove another 450 today to be ready for work tomorrow - and get to do it again in reverse Friday -Saturday
Rain from Grand Falls to Rivière-de-loop made the car photo’s a no go on the way up.
Time to find a wash spot and maybe a picture on the way home

I actually took a real mini run today.
The third one only this summer.
Down to Plaster Rock, over to Perth-Andover, then down to Florenceville on route 105. That’s the east side of the Saint-John river through Bath and Bristol.
Then back up on the old TCH on west side of river.
Beautiful day for windows down driving, relaxing to the sound of the exhaust and wind noise.
A couple of passes through Mexico. ?

Arthurette bridge over the Tobique river.

It turned out to be a great cruising weekend. Headed up home to Cape Breton to visit some family. Here are a few shots.

On the way to Isle Madame at Lennox Passage there is an Osprey nest which has been there for many years. Always stop for a shot or two.

Got a shot of three as one was coming in with some new "building supplies" for the nest.

On to the island for a visit to Arichat in the back ground.

On the way back took the old 337 back of Antigonish to Cape George. The route was a nice drive.

Continuing on we stopped at the lighthouse / ice cream shop in Arisaig.

Bonus Pic.
We got a shot of some eagles in Louisdale before Isle Madame from the car window but as I got out to try and snap them beside the car in a shot they took off. Note to self. Bring some fish next time...

Got out for a little spin over to Point pleasnt park in Halifax.
Beautiful day, this used to be a big car hang out on SUnday evenings.
I hadn't been in a couple of years, guess that dies off with Covid.
Might have been 3-4 cars that was it.

Still beautiful evening for scoot, Traffic was busy, incredible how
many out of province plates you see.

Got out for a drive yesterday towards Hillsborough. Tout some of the back roads back.

Today we left Salisbury towards Moncton, onto Memramcook, Sackville and Cap pelé for supper at Fred's. Then we made out way back to Moncton and then home. It was a beautiful sunny day with plenty of nice cars out.

Out for an early Sunday drive. Stopped by Towne Ford to see if the Mach 1 was still there. It wasn’t but I spied this out back. Looks like they are already changing the exhaust?
The wheel/tire combo on the King Ranch. “Dub” wheels? Not my taste anyway!
