I’m not sure if this tarp and tubing structure qualifies as a barn, but I think this genuine 1967 Lotus 7 for sale here on Facebook Marketplace and located in East Haven, Connecticut is a terrific find! Thanks to reader Bill C. for calling it to our attention! The seller is asking $28,000, but how often do you come across a real Lotus 7? Especially one that appears to have been used on the street (note the side curtains)!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/g2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/g2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] I wish a little more effort had been taken to get some good pictures of the car, but as best as I can tell it’s pretty solid. The seller tells us it needs a front wheel bearing and caliper, which is presumably why the car was laid up after 66,000 miles.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/g3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/g3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] I think the Mountney-type steering wheel wasn’t around in 1966 but it does look the part. It also looks like the tachometer may have been replaced. I love that the car looks to have been used on the road!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/g4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/g4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Presumably this is the other wheel shown here. It actually seems pretty wide to me for a 7 this old — any other opinions, readers?

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/g5-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/g5-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Twin DCOE Webers and K&N filters are always good to see under the hood of anything. The front-mid engine layout that helps to lend the 7 design its great balance and handling is very evident from this picture. I wish I were the person putting this “overpowered go-kart” back on the road — don’t you?

[h=1]Stored For 42 Years: 1967/8 Triumph TR4A[/h] image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Jamie-Palmer_avatar_1510764066-24x24.jpg

This pleasingly original 196″8″ Triumph TR4A is available here on craigslist and is located in Powhatan, Virginia. The seller is asking $15,500 but as with most craigslist prices that is probably at least somewhat negotiable. The reason I put quotes around the “8” is that it’s actually a 1967 model that was sold and titled in 1968; the one-year-only six-cylinder TR250/TR5 was the 1968 Triumph offering.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/y2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/y2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] One of the interesting things about the TR4A is that IRS, or Independent Rear Suspension was an option in the North American market. As you can see from the witness marks from the original badging, this car was so equipped. The seller tells us that the car was purchased new in Georgia and has not been repainted; that’s the original dealer decal on the trunk (boot) lid.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/y3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/y3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2]
We’re also told that the car was stored by the original owner from 1973 until 2015 in a garage. Unfortunately, as you can see above, while the paint is original it isn’t unblemished. A good body person might be able to make this right and blend some paint in, though; I’d hate to see the whole car repainted due to this and another bad spot on the hood.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/y4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/y4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The ad characterizes the car as having a “solid sheet metal and undercarriage,” and I can’t disagree based on the pictures they have included. After looking this car over closely in the pictures, I really can’t fault the asking price. I’ve certainly seen a lot poorer condition TR4As sold for a lot more!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/y5-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/y5-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Although 60-spoke wheels are stock for a TR4A, the 72-spoke wheels from a TR6 fit and these have been sandblasted, painted and fitted with new tires. It doesn’t mention them having been trued, though. I’m lucky that there is an excellent vendor and friend close to me in Greensboro, NC that is a wire wheel specialist, but not everyone has that access.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/y6-630x390.jpg

Although there are no pictures of the engine included, the seller tells us it runs and drives well and is currently insured and driven. Perhaps a trip to Virginia for a test drive is in order for you?

The Datsun Zed car range went through a period of general unpopularity during the early 1980s, but they have experienced a significant resurgence over the past 15 to 20 years. The 260Z was only sold in the US for one year but remained in production in other countries until 1978. The most desirable vehicle in the 260Z range was the 2-seater, as it offered a significant weight reduction over the 2+2. This 260Z is just such a car, and you will find it listed for sale here on eBay. It is located in Snohomish, Washington, and is being sold with a clear title.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/datsun-2-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/datsun-2-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The majority of project-grade 260Zs that appear on the market these days require at least some rust repairs as part of the restoration process. This can range from pretty minor work to pretty major. This is a car full of good news. It is a solid car, with very little rust. There are few spots of surface corrosion, but even the highly susceptible battery tray has been spared the ravages of major rust issues. The car is finished in Light Blue Metallic, but the car has undergone a repaint at some point in its life. There are a few minor issues with external trim, but all of the glass is genuine Nissan glass and is free of any cracks.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/datsun-3-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/datsun-3-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The L-Series Datsun engines were built with strength and longevity in mind. Double valve springs and dual-row timing chains allowed them to be revved quite freely, and some versions even scored a forged steel crank as standard. This L26 engine is said to run really well but can be a bit stubborn when cold. This can be a bit of an issue with the standard Hitachi carburetors, and given the age of the car, they will probably benefit hugely from a rebuild. The manual transmission shifts smoothly, although the seller doesn’t specify whether this is the 4-speed or the 5-speed version. Hopefully, it’s the 5-speed, as that overdrive fifth gear does make for quiet and relaxed highway cruising.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/datsun-4-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/datsun-4-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior has held up quite well over the years and is pretty well original. The dash pad has a crack in it, and the driver’s seat will need a new cover, but the rest of it looks like it will clean up fairly well. Thankfully the vinyl trim that runs along the transmission tunnel below the floor console isn’t torn and should be able to be cleaned successfully. That trim is no longer in production, although there are some upholsterers who can simulate its distinctive look out of plain vinyl with the right grain.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/datsun-5-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/datsun-5-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The 260Z, especially the 2-seater, is a great car to drive. That willing L26 engine, a slick manual transmission, and independent rear suspension make for a rewarding driving experience. People have recognized this, and it is now really difficult to find a half-reasonable car under $15,000. From there, the prices rise quite steeply. The popularity of the 260Z is reflected in the activity in this eBay auction. There are 12 people who are bidding on the car quite solidly, and bidding has reached $3,350. The really tempting thing is the fact that it is being sold in a No Reserve auction. That has to make it tempting.

The winter season is just around the corner and this 1969 Ford Bronco might just be the fun that you’re looking to have when the snow arrives. Submitted by reader Dan O and found here on Craigslist, this Bronco can be had for twelve grand.

What we’re able to see looks like a fairly straight body with little to no rust. The seller says that it’s a great hunting vehicle and it sounds like it’s ready to go.

A lot of mechanical work has been done which includes a recent engine rebuild of the 302 V8, a new clutch and flywheel, and some new wheel bearings. Not much information is given on the overall running and driving condition, but those would seem to be pretty good signs in moving that direction. The seller also states that the front seats have been rebuilt, which I would assume means they’ve been reupholstered.

These Broncos seem to command a higher price tag, especially when they’re in halfway decent condition. Does it seem like you could get $12,000 of use out of this one?

This 1973 Ford Mustang convertible appears to be a refurbishment project that someone started but never finished. It’s listed for sale here on eBay with a low starting bid of $1,800 and no reserve! The barn it’s in is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and the car is waiting there for you to pick it up and finish it by Spring!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/v2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/v2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] We’re told that the car has been in the same family since new and evidently was the recipient (victim?) of one repaint in something close to the factory color. It looks like the car was being stripped down for another paint job when the project was shelved. However, there were only 11,853 1973 Mustang convertibles produced, and even though emissions controls and weight had both crept into the original pony car, it was a desirable car then and still is now.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/v3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/v3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] There is some rust in both sides at the rocker panels but it’s not horrible. These 71-73 Mustangs became more popular as prices skyrocketed on the earlier cars and more and more reproduction parts are available. Not only that, they seem very inexpensive!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/v4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/v4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] We’re told the floor and rocker panels are both solid and a close up picture of the rocker panels helps me to feel good about that. We’re told the seats were kept inside safely but will still need to be reupholstered. You can get an entire interior kit here for less than $1,000!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/v5-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/v5-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] It’s good for us southern US folks to see the air conditioning compressor even though the system will undoubtedly need work. The seller tells us they don’t know if the engine is free or not; assuming for a moment the car wasn’t taken off the road for some catastrophic engine failure I’ve got a lot of confidence that even if it is, it could be freed up in a week or two of soaking with your favorite solution. All in all, this seems to be a very refurbishable American convertible that you could have ready to roll by next Spring. What say you, readers?

The idea of rescuing a Mustang from a garage or barn is what most of us live for. What about finding a limited- production turbocharged performance model designed by a special division of Ford Motor Company? That is the case here with this ’84 Mustang SVO. With the rising popularity of the Fox platform Mustang, projects like this are getting more attention. This car needs work but it is relatively complete and retains most of the special SVO parts. Find it here on Craigslist in Tallahassee, FL for $5,000 OBO.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/00m0m_97a1Nh7lbOG_1200x900-e1544561242143-630x390.jpg

The Special Vehicle Operations Department (SVO) took the Mustang and upgraded almost every area of the car making it into a very capable performance car for the day. All SVO cars were powered a fuel injected turbocharged 2.3 liter. Power output was very respectable at 175HP, automatic transmissions were not offered with the SVO package, only 5-speed manuals. The engine in the car is out of an ’85 model but the original motor is available. The ad doesn’t mention if the engine runs or not. The styling of the SVO is unique and very 80’s, I see a lot of similarities to the Ford EXP.

Other unique styling features of the SVO are a functional hood scoop offset to accommodate the intercooler, rear spoiler, and 16-inch wheels. Only 4 colors were available according to this great article from Ford Performance. Performance upgrades include larger sway bars, adjustable shocks, and wheel disc brakes to name a few. The ad gives few details but it is made clear this is a project car. It’s nice to see most of the SVO parts are still there and lots of extras go with the deal including an extra set of wheels.

This is a special car with tons of potential, the SVO is an often overlooked example in the Mustang heritage but it was a shining star in the early 80’s automotive scene. With some work, this car can be returned to the road as a drivable project. The price seems reasonable especially with the supply of spare parts. Let’s hope someone comes along to save it.

This 1965 Mustang Convertible is said to be an unrestored, numbers-matching, original car. It has been kept in a garage for the last 45 years by the same owner, but the Mustang is now up for sale. You will find it listed for sale here on eBay. Located in Mount Hope, West Virginia, it is being offered for sale with a clear title.

While there is no visible rust, apparently there is a single spot of rust right at the bottom of the rear quarter panel on the driver’s side, but this doesn’t appear in the photos. The car has also been fitted with a hood tachometer and luggage rack, neither of which are original. The seller does supply a pretty thorough catalog of photos, many of which are in the gallery below this story, which indicate that all of the known trouble spots under the car are rust-free. The owner also has an incredible collection of documentation that is included with the car, including the window sticker, original sales invoice, original owner’s manual, and virtually every invoice and record of all service performed on the car since new.

It is not immaculate, but it is tidy. The carpet is discolored in places, and the upholstery on the seats, in particular, the driver’s seat, is also a bit stretched. The thing that I find distracting is the addition of a number of aftermarket items and gauges to the interior. I’m fully aware that these can be removed, but I feel that it undermines the car’s originality.

The original, numbers-matching drive-train is all present, along with all of the appropriate tags. In the owner’s own words, the way the car drives is mind-blowing.

I think the majority of us have probably have some idea of the value of this car. The owner has set a BIN price of $130,000 for the Mustang (I’ve rounded the price up by a penny). There is also the option to submit an offer. What are your thoughts on this?

With the immense popularity of the Mustang, it seems not so common to find a K code fastback like this 1966 model. Quite solid and a great start for a restoration, this Mustang also comes with a plethora of parts. With less than a day remaining, bidding has risen to $9,877. Check it out here on eBay out of New Labanon, Ohio.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/66-Ford-Mustang-K-Code-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] While there is a 289 in the engine bay, it is not the original Hipo engine. Also the original rear axle is missing. Despite a few missing items the seller is including a 4 barrel intake and carb, and many other great parts with this project. The sheet metal in the engine compartment is quite clean. As you continue to look over this car, the more apparent it is what a sharp start this would be.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/66-Ford-Mustang-K-Code-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Partially outfitted with an interior, this Mustang is likely missing a few interior items as well. The floors have minor surface rust, and the floors have been replaced in the past. Previous weld work is evident, but isn’t the end of the world. The interior is loosely placed inside, and the glass is also loosely placed on the car. You will need a solid game plan for getting everything packed up and to your destination without damaging anything.

There is no apparent rot in this Mustang unless some is lurking in the rocker areas. The quarters have been replaced and need some finishing work to be complete. I see no major damage to the body, so I would think tidying up the quarters and performing some bodywork would have you on your way to the paint booth. Being a factory 4 Speed Hipo K code car certainly makes this a worthwhile restoration, as I have seen many start off with much worse candidates that were not k code machines. As the auction winds down, what do you think this K code machine will sell for?

This 1965 Mustang Convertible is a great barn find that has been sitting in dry storage since 1978. It has a couple of small dings on the body but is a rust-free car that would make a perfect project. It is located in Green Valley, Illinois, and is listed for sale here on eBay. The Mustang is being sold with a clear title.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/mustang-2-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/mustang-2-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Giving the Mustang a fairly careful check, the creases in the above picture are the worst damage on the body. There is a slightly smaller matching crease on the other side. The owner provides quite a few photos of the underside of the car, and it looks to be solid, rust-free, and dry. This is a car that shows some real promise.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/mustang-3-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/mustang-3-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The only photo of the engine is taken from a fair distance, and all you can see is the air cleaner. We do know that it is a 289 V8 with an automatic transmission and power steering. The engine hasn’t been started since 1988, so there will be some work to do there, although the owner has poured ATF into the plug holes a while back, so the engine may turn freely. Meanwhile, the interior is really dirty but doesn’t look too bad. It looks like it might be a case of replacing the cover on the driver’s seat, fitting new carpet, giving the interior a thorough clean, and you’ll be up and away. This really is quite a promising looking project car.

There will still be some work to do on this one, but at least the new owner will be spared the prospect of wholesale replacement of sheet-metal. The car has obviously struck a chord with a few people, because bidding has been strong, and the price is sitting at $7,200 How high do you think that this one will go?

The seller of this 1974 Datsun 260Z acquired it from a friend and longtime owner of the car. With the second owner since 1981, it sat parked in a pole barn for the last several decades with no plan for preservation other than to keep it off the roads. The paint shows some wear and tear but the bulk of the exterior remains presentable and the cabin is mint. Find it here on eBay with bidding approaching $5K.

I won’t say that a survivor-grade 260Z isn’t desirable, but the sheer volume of cars made and the obvious affection among enthusiasts for the earlier examples hasn’t helped the 260 models appreciate like the oldest ones.

If you’re looking for a 240Z/260Z project, be sure to check out our recent Barn Finds Exclusive for four Z-car projects that need rescuing in Georgia. I will say, not one of those cars has an interior like this one!

The burnt orange paint and dark chestnut interior is a great combination, and I hope the next owner simply gets the car running reliably without touching the perfectly aged cosmetics.

Offered for the first time in 30 years, this 1969 Shelby GT500 seeks a new owner here on craigslist in Pensacola, Florida, where $37,000 will make it yours. Three hastily-snapped pictures and an 18-word teaser listing suggest the seller enjoys answering the same questions over and over by phone and has plenty of time to spend on-site with potential buyers. The non-original 428 cid V8 will certainly affect the sale price, bringing it into scope for folks who couldn’t afford a more complete specimen. Luckily, compared to the typical nondescript flipper car, this one should come with plenty of answers owing to the lengthy ownership. Thanks to reader Chuck F. for spotting this long-hobbled Mustang.

The Shelby GT500 represents the ultimate over-the-top Mustang, and the last year of the Shelby Mustang, though some were sold as 1970 models (thanks to danjedlicka.com for some details). This one has had its restoration started, which may have included a replacement right rear quarter-panel and the removal of a plywood wing from the trunk lid (just kidding… I hope).

Luckily the car survived an apparent attack by a 12-year-old wielding a paintbrush. Ford’s more muscular ’69 Mustang translated into a beefier-looking Shelby as well. Shelby’s team extended the nose, added unique front fenders, air ducts, and scoops, with Cougar-style sequential tail lights at the rear. Originally Pastel Grey with the Stripe Delete option, this would have been fairly subdued as Shelby Mustangs go. For enthusiasts who may have given up on owning a classic Shelby due to crazy prices of perfect ones, this solid-looking imperfect one may be worth a closer look. I hear Florida is nice this time of year. Are you booking tickets to check out this Last of the ’60s Shelby Mustangs?

Sitting in Marietta, Georgia, is this 1967 Mercury Cougar, just waiting for someone to breathe new life into it. The car not only appears to be complete, if partially dismantled, but it also appears to be very solid. If this is a car that you have really taken a shine to, you will find it listed for sale here on Craigslist, where it is being sold with a clean title.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-2-1-e1544725957444-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cougar-2-1-e1544725957444-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The photos for this Cougar leave a bit to be desired, but piecing them together appears to indicate that this is a very solid car. The front floors look like they may have some surface corrosion, which should be easy to fix. The rest of the floors appear solid, and there is no visible external rust in the quarter panels, rockers, or lower fenders. The black vinyl top also appears to be in good order. There is a piece of trim missing from the deck-lid, but that’s really about it.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-3-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cougar-3-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The mechanical condition of the car also starts to get a bit blurred. I believe that the car has been sitting for quite some time. The V8 engine runs using an external gas supply, as the fuel system looks like it needs a clean. The seller does say that the engine sounds nice and that the car drove a few years ago. I believe that the owner is suggesting that the car should be fully serviced and checked before any attempt is made to drive it.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-4-1-e1544725974428-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cougar-4-1-e1544725974428-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior is actually complete, although most of the trim has been removed, and is neatly laid out on the seller’s workshop floor. The dash appears to be in good condition, and most of the trim items look like they could be used once they’ve been given a good clean. The one item that is missing is the carpet, so a replacement would need to be sourced.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-1-1-e1544726016887-630x390.jpg

With so many of these suffering from rust issues, finding one that is basically rust-free is a real bonus. With the price set at $10,995, it may not be the cheapest Cougar project car for sale at present. However, in its current, partially dismantled state, you will at least have a fair idea of what you are buying, and you will hopefully avoid any nasty surprises down the track.

Here at Barn Finds, we’ve seen a few Thunderbirds that are in need of total restoration, but the owner of this car has already started the process, and it will be up to the new owner to complete it. There is, however, one aspect of the car that is a little bit odd, and we’ll get to that later. If you are looking for a Thunderbird project car, then you will find this one listed for sale here on Craigslist. It is located in Orland Park, Illinois, and is being sold with a clean title.

The car certainly looks nice and straight, but I did notice that the majority of the chrome trim and badges are still on the car. I’m surprised that these weren’t removed during the restoration, or perhaps they have just been reattached for the photos, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. The Thunderbird was available in 1963 with optional wire wheels, and while this car is fitted with wire wheels, they are non-genuine.

The Thunderbird is fitted with a 390ci V8 engine, a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission, power steering, and power brakes. The owner says that the Thunderbird starts, runs, and drives well. He is so confident in this fact that he suggests that the new owner could drive it home. The only mechanical issue that he identifies is an exhaust leak at the manifold which will need to be fixed.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/thunderbird-4-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] This is where things go a little strange for me. The car looks like it started out life finished in Rangoon Red (judging by the paint in the door closes). The fact that it is fitted with red carpet makes sense in this context, along with the other red interior trim items. However, the seats look to be finished in Chestnut Brown and Beige, which wasn’t a combination available in 1963. Personally, I probably would have fitted new covers to the seats before fitting them to the car, because it really does look odd. The rest of the interior looks to be in quite good condition, although that cover on the dash doesn’t give us a look at the state of the pad.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/thunderbird-5-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/thunderbird-5-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The owner of this Thunderbird suggests that it could make a cool rat rod project, but I’m not so sure of that. To me, the rat rod look just isn’t there, but that’s personal opinion. There is a bit of work left on the car, but if the bodywork has been completed to a decent standard, it is possible that there really isn’t that much left to do. The owner has set a price of $4,200 for the car. I have seen project cars that are cheaper than this, but none of these were capable of running or being driven. I’ve also seen a lot of more expensive ones. It may require a bit of investigation, but this is a Thunderbird project that may hold some real potential.

During the classic Muscle Car era, “R” stood for “Racing” when it came to Ford engine codes, and while this 1969 Mustang Mach 1 in Sturgis, Michigan lacks its original R-code 428 Cobra-Jet engine, it would still make a fearsome driver and a valuable addition to any Mustang owner’s stable. Offered here on eBay, it’s enticed at least one bidder beyond $20,000.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/1969-R-Code-Mustang-Mach1-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1969-R-Code-Mustang-Mach1-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The seller knows his or her Mustangs, and provides details and answers to many potential buyers’ questions in a palatable format. It’s nice to see a car get the respect it deserves, namely pictures and information. Sadly we see many vehicles offered up with all the fanfare of a rusty wheel-barrow: a few blurry cell-phone pictures, no history, a ten-word description, seven of which are miss-spelled and stitched together in ALL CAPS and/or with 3rd-grade grammar. Sometimes more than half the listing is devoted to warnings not to double-cross the lazy seller. The latter type could take a moment to appreciate this car’s well-crafted listing.

Other similar extreme options included single sun visors, because who wants the extra weight of a second visor slowing you down when you hit the 1320? The mild 3.25:1 rear axle gears and power brakes, on the other hand, suggest daily driving duties.

By 1969, only the NASCAR-inspired Z-code 429 made more power than the R-code 428 (375 vs. 335 HP, respectively). Thanks to shnack.com for some details. Oddly an update to the listing stated that parts originally listed with the car would no longer be included, certainly a downer for anyone who reads the listing top to bottom. It’s hard to go wrong with a pre-’71 Mustang. What do you think of this one?

Have you ever had to sell something for someone? That is the situation for this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that has a buy it now price of $25,000 or make an offer. The car has a clean title and a VIN is listed. Located in Fairfax Station, Virginia, this 120,000 mile car is listed by someone who does eBay better than the owner of the car. You can head over to eBay to find out more.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-l1600-1-7-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/s-l1600-1-7-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Thankfully there are quite a few photos of the engine posted in the listing. According to the post, it is a 351 Windsor that was recently rebuilt. The engine only has 200 miles on it. It has an automatic transmission, dual exhaust, a new radiator, brake and braking system, and a new fuel tank. There is no description or reason for any of the work listed, but it seems to indicate the car is driven and cared for.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-l1600-13-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/s-l1600-13-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2]
There are quite a few photos of the interior as well. Nothing is listed regarding a restoration. It seems as though the interior is original, but it is incredibly hard to tell. There are some rips and tears in the seats but overall, it is in good condition. All the trim and dials seem to be in their proper places and even the carpets look plush, for however plush it can look from a photo. More details should be acquired about this car.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-l1600-2-7-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/s-l1600-2-7-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] They, unfortunately, don’t have any photos of the front of the car. It doesn’t seem like they are hiding anything. The plates are visible on the back. But it seems odd that they do not have any front photos of the car. According to the listing the car has been garage kept for over 40 years. A phone number and name are listed to call with any questions. That is certainly a good thing and something you should consider doing if you are interested in this car.

Hopefully, better days are ahead for this 1973 Ford Mustang. The car is currently located in Oro Grande, California but had been found in a building in Arizona. Mileage is unlisted, some part, of the VIN is listed, maybe. A clear title is listed, but everything in the listing is hard to decipher for the facts. Currently, the price sits at $102.50 with two bids and no reserve. You can view more here on eBay.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-l1600-1-6-e1545063279408-630x390.jpg

No photos are shown of the engine. However, they aren’t really needed considering the listing says that currently, the car does not have an engine or transmission in it. The seller claims they will provide a 351 Cleveland with an automatic transmission for an additional $500 more, but they will not be putting it in the car.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-l1600-3-4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/s-l1600-3-4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2]
There are no photos of the interior and that is where things need proof of what is claimed in the listing. The seller states the car is rare because it is a Grande and has Luxury Cougar interior. They state that there is Factory Ford power windows installed originally but are currently no longer in the car. With no photographs, it is hard to take any of the claimed information in the listing as believable.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/s-l1600-4-3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/s-l1600-4-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The photos of the exterior show a worn out body and faded paint. There does not seem to be a whole lot of rust. In the listing, they state that there is a rough patch at the bottom of one of the rear quarter panels. Some trim pieces are missing based on the photos and the car’s interior is stuffed with something unless that is the headliner. For the price, unless it goes much higher, it isn’t so bad at the moment.

The best part about this gig, writing for Barn Finds, is increasing your knowledge of small, obscure automotive facts. Take this 1985.5 Ford Mustang SVO, for instance: I thought for sure the seller was pulling one of those annoying production stat schemes where they talked about how SVOs made on Thursdays with vertical versus horizontal stripes on the upholstery were particularly rare, but it turns out these late-production SVOs are pretty special. Find it here on craigslist with a $3,000 ask. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Miguel for the find.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/svo-rear-e1545122554654-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/svo-rear-e1545122554654-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The 85.5 models actually left the factory with a boost in performance, with 205 b.h.p. on tap. The production numbers were quite low, with less than 500 SVOs made that had the extra oomph, and the aero-enhanced headlights that gave the front end a smoother look. The seller notes some other questionable tweaks have been made, like that awful Cobra-style rear hatch.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/svo-interior-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/svo-interior-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior is OK, but definitely in need of a refresh. The suspension has been lowered, and camber caster plates and subframe connectors have been added as well. The Mustang should be an entertaining handler if tires were upgraded at some point, but I hope those Simpson seat belts don’t point to repeated hard launches at a local drag strip.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/svo-engine-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/svo-engine-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The seller vaguely refers to “…custom motor work at some time” in the listing, which leaves more questions than it answers. These are obviously highly tunable machines, but not everyone wants one that’s had the boost cranked up for maximum performance. These final production SVOs are special and rare cars, and this one deserves a sympathetic return to stock condition. If it is, I see some potential upside here for a decent increase in value over the purchase price.

This four-wheeled feline is in a strange situation. Up for sale is a 1966 Jaguar E Type. Where it gets more interesting is that the seller wants 26,000-pound sterling. That is right, British currency even though the car is said to be located in Long Branch, assumedly New Jersey. A distance of 51,909 miles is listed on the odometer. You can view more here on eBay.

It also states that triple SU carburetors are installed and the cylinder head looks period correct. It is hard to tell what is or is not true in this listing. There is apparently a clean title to the car.

While the listing says the interior should clean up nicely, and it might, it looks like this car was flooded. There is mold on the seats. Everything looks to be there, but moisture has certainly taken a toll on the materials. The listing does provide an under the car photo and that doesn’t help the case of the car.

If an international buyer is looking to purchase, they can move the car to Bayonne, New Jersey and can arrange to have the car shipped. The seller encourages bidders to check their previous buyer recommendations.

This 1984 Ford Bronco XLT is described by its owner as a 3rd generation survivor. It wears its original paint, original drive-train, and original interior. It is a striking looking vehicle, but there is a bit of a sting in the tail, which we’ll get to later. If this is a vehicle that you would aspire to own, it is located in Birmingham, Alabama, and is listed for sale here on eBay.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/bronco-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/bronco-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] There’s not a lot to criticize in the presentation of the Bronco. The original Walnut Metallic and Light Desert Tan paint look virtually faultless, and there are no signs of rust. About the only thing that rates criticism is the paint on the spare wheel carrier. There is surface corrosion showing through on that, but that would be a pretty easy thing to fix. Otherwise, it really does look like it has just rolled off the showroom floor.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/bronco-3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/bronco-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] To get the Bronco on the move you get a 5.8L HO engine, a C6 transmission, and a 9″ rear end. The owner says that the vehicle is an everyday driver that is tight and that the car has an upgraded AC compressor, along with new brakes and master cylinder. As with the exterior of the Bronco, the engine bay presents very nicely.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/bronco-4-630x390.jpg

Once again, it’s very hard to fault it. Everything looks very good, with no rips, tears, stains, or cracks to report. The Bronco also benefits from power windows and locks, and a very neatly camouflaged aftermarket stereo with hidden speakers and Bluetooth capability.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/bronco-5-630x390.jpg

As a result, you would expect it to command a premium price. At the time of writing, bidding has reached $4,450, but the reserve has not been met. I said that there was a sting in the tail, and this is it. The owner has also listed a BIN price for the Bronco, and this is set at $28,500, which is quite a sting. Thoughts anyone?

The Mercury Capri is seen far less frequently than its Fox-body twin, the Ford Mustang. Even harder to find are the desirable RS cars, equipped with the venerable 5.0L V8 motor, otherwise found in the Mustang GT. This Capri has been hidden away somewhere in Vermont for the past 10 years and retains its desirable Recaro interior. Find it here on craigslist for $4,500 and thanks to Barn Finds reader Fordguy for the find.

Obviously, Mercury was trying to distinguish its version of the muscle car any way it could, but this reminds me so much of the Plymouth Laser / Dodge Charger of the same era that it’s almost impossible to get the Mopar hatch out of my head. The blue-on-white stripe package doesn’t help, either.

The interior is otherwise a barely-disguised Mustang underneath, but the red inserts are unusual to see in a white car – perhaps the color isn’t original? The seller mentions that the strut towers are solid but doesn’t elaborate about any other rust issues, a potential concern with a Vermont car.

Cars like this automatically demand you ask where else were corners cut, and make you hope the answer is limited to the amateur paint job.
