The seller of this 1969 Mustang is only the car’s second owner. He has only owned the car for a few months but has decided to sell it. There might be a good reason for this decision, which we will get to shortly. In the meantime, you will find the Mustang advertised for sale here on eBay. It is located in Rutledge, Tennessee, and is being offered for sale with a clear title. After opening at $1,000, bidding has climbed to $24,500 at the time of writing.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-2-12-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] While the paintwork is looking more than a bit second-hand, the thing that grabbed my attention on the Mustang is the distinct lack of rust. Apart from some beginning to appear behind both rear wheel arches. the car looks remarkably clean. Don’t think with this car that beauty is only skin deep, as there are a number of photos showing some of the more susceptible areas, and they also look clean. The owner says that the car is still wearing its original paint, and it also looks to be complete, with no obvious items missing.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-3-12-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-3-12-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Inside the car, the good news continues. The original black interior trim is in good condition, with no obvious problems visible on the seats, door trims, headliner, or other plastic trim items. The only things to note are some discoloring of the carpet, and the dash pad has cracked through the grille on the top of the pad. Otherwise, it all looks good.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-4-12-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-4-12-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Under the hood are the 428ci R-Code engine and 4-speed manual transmission. I told you there may be a reason why the owner has decided to part with the car so quickly, and this could potentially be part of the motivation. The car was running and driving, but the owner was moving the car from his driveway and into his garage when the motor suddenly locked. He believes that the engine will require a full rebuild. If there is one blessing in this, it’s the fact that this occurred at relatively low revs. If this failure had happened when the engine was spinning at high revs, then the results would almost certainly have been catastrophic. The other piece of news to consider is that while the heads, intake, carburetor, fan and fan clutch, and radiator and shroud all appear to be original to the car, the engine block has not been verified as original.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-5-11-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-5-11-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The fact that the engine in this Mustang is locked is a real tragedy. If it can be revived and is also confirmed to be original, then this is a Mustang, that if restored properly, would fetch a price well in excess of $70,000 in today’s market. As I said at the start, bidding on the car has been really strong so far, so it seems that there are some people out there who can see the potential, and are willing to roll the dice.

The Mercury Cyclone GT has been described as the car for the sporting gentleman who placed an emphasis on style and comfort. That is not to say that the car didn’t have sporting pretensions, as the car had a selection of engine options that could provide very respectable performance. This Cyclone GT is a nice looking car that you could park in your garage. You will find it listed for sale here on Craigslist. It is located in Spokane Valley, Washington, and is being offered for sale with a clean title. The owner has set the sale price at $14,900. A big thank you has to go out to Barn Finder Pat L for spotting this car for us.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cyclone-2-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The Cyclone looks to be quite a solid car. There are certainly no indications of rust issues, although there are no shots of the underside of the car. Some of the chrome trim is looking a bit dirty and oxidized, but I think that it might respond well to a good-quality polish. There is a sizeable ding on the passenger side fender, but it doesn’t look like it will be hard to fix. The car is fitted with Appliance mags, but the seller is including the original wheels with the car, which are complete with their trim rings and center caps.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/cyclone-3-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cyclone-3-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior is complete, but some aspects of it are looking a bit tired. The dash pad has a crack in it, and there are a few aftermarket gauges that have been fitted to the car. It also has an aftermarket radio/cassette player installed. Having said that, it looks like the interior trim would respond really well to a deep clean.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/cyclone-4-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cyclone-4-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] A 351-4V engine and automatic transmission are fitted to the car, which also features power steering and power brakes. The Cyclone GT was fitted with the 351-2V engine as standard, and the 4V delivers a useful power increase of 45hp over the standard engine. The engine is also fitted with a freshly rebuilt Holley carburetor, and the owner says that the car runs and drives nicely.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/cyclone-5-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cyclone-5-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The Mercury Cyclone GT is a bit of a “sleeper” in the used car field, and it is not a car that instantly comes to mind for many people when considering cars of its type from this era. However, they do have a dedicated following, and their values reflect this. Good, clean examples that are equipped like our feature car generally sell for around or just above $20,000, but I have seen immaculate examples pushing up to as high as $40,000. This one appears to be clean and solid and really doesn’t need a lot of work to make it stand out. That makes me think that this car at the asking price seems like a pretty good deal.

Sometime before the dawn of the Internet Age, every town in American told its own story about an abandoned Chrysler Wing Car deteriorating in a barn, field, or garage somewhere nearby. Just when you think they have all been found and treated to rotisserie restorations, something like this 1970 Plymouth Superbird in London, Kentucky pops up. Twenty-three bids here on eBay have driven the value north of $85,000, and it will need a complete restoration, though the original numbers-matching V-code (440 six-pack) engine has been rebuilt.

Many rare muscle cars can be difficult to identify except upon close inspection, but a wing of this magnitude (homologated for their functionality in NASCAR) can be identified from a country mile.

If the enormo-wing isn’t flashy enough, the Limelight Green paint guarantees you’re noticed in traffic. No one will accuse the new owner of his or her appreciation for stealth. This Superbird is the automotive equivalent of a neck tattoo and a fluorescent green Mohawk. A factory four-speed with Pistol-Grip shifter transmits power to the original Dana rear axle and its 3.54:1 gears.

Then, when you get angry and summon the two secondary carburetors with your right foot, a whole new world of thrust kicks in and threatens to acquaint you with the nearest bridge abutment. New fuel and brake lines, fuel tank, and exhaust round out the mechanical refurbishment. Bidding on similar cars has been known to take an express train to Crazyville. Tell us your local Wing Car legend below!

Parked for several decades, this Goliath of a Galaxie is in need of some work to be revived. Packing what is thought to be its original 428 V8, this sweet Galaxie has loads of torque to pull you anywhere you want to go. With an opening bid of just $0.99 this 7 liter beast could end up being a good deal! Check it out here on eBay out of Redding, California.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/66-Ford-Galaxie-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] At some point in its past, this 428 suffered a failed timing gear. The seller installed new gears and a new chain, and this Goliath came back to life. Upon its awakening, the exhaust gaskets blew out possibly due to rats nest in the exhaust. Although this engine runs, there is definitely other work to be performed on this Ford. The brake master cylinder is locked up, so the brake system definitely needs attention. I would also wager that the fuel system, and engine itself need some tlc.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/66-Ford-Galaxie-3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/66-Ford-Galaxie-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] We don’t get a clear view of the interior, but we can see a few key details. A few cracks are in the dash, but the seats seem fair. The most noticeable concern with the interior is the rust in the floors.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/66-Ford-Galaxie-4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/66-Ford-Galaxie-4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The seller thinks there is a possibility of this Galaxie being a California car, but there is too much rust for me to think that is the case. According to the seller there is evidence of repair to the rear quarters. Also there is a substantial amount of surface rust in the fender wells, and well as several areas of the under body. Despite the rust in the floors, and the previous repair to the quarters, this 7 liter Galaxie is a sweet big block classic that could be a good restoration project. Of if you are savvy, you could likely clean up and repair the floors to enjoy this classic as a driver. Are you a fan of this big block classic?

Here at Barn Finds, we have certainly seen our share of Mustang project cars. These cars have ranged from cars that have only required light restoration, through to cars that are ready to consume thousands of hours, and many more thousands of dollars, to bring them back from the brink. This 1967 Mustang is a little bit different. While it might not look at its best in this photo, this is a Mustang that is ready for the next owner to climb into, and just enjoy the vintage Mustang experience. You will find the Mustang listed for sale here on eBay. It is located in Phoenix, Arizona, and is being offered for sale with a clear title. At the time of writing, spirited bidding for the Mustang has reached $46,100, but the reserve has not been met.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-2-13-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-2-13-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] As you can now see, the bidding on this Mustang has been spirited for a very good reason. The Mustang has undergone a meticulous restoration. I won’t use the word perfect, but I don’t think that it’s far off it. The Mustang underwent a full restoration in 2017, and the current owner is only the car’s second owner. In spite of the fact that the car had been driven hard and fast by the original owner, the body was in surprisingly good shape. The floors were replaced as they had some tiny pinholes in them, but apart from the driver’s side front fender, the rest of the car is the original steel (and the owner will include that original fender if the buyer wants it). The car now looks fantastic finished in its original Brittany Blue paint, and the original steel wheels that are fitted to the car set it off nicely. The car was restored by Desert Classic Mustangs, who seem to have done a superb job on the car.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-3-13-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-3-13-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The underside of the Mustang is just as clean and tidy as the outside of the car. As the owner stated, apart from replacing the floors, all of the metal under the car is original and solid. The owner originally intended to undertake a partial restoration, and then fit a more modern engine and transmission, but eventually decided to restore it as close to original as possible. He also states that the only thing preventing this car from being considered as a concourse example are small details like the fully painted driveshaft and controls arms, which should be bare metal, along with a couple of stickers and grease pen marks. The owner considered making the car concourse but chose to place vehicle longevity ahead of that. The new owner could certainly finish that process if they were to so choose.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-4-13-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-4-13-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior of the Mustang also presents incredibly well. Everything has been refurbished, reconditioned, or replaced. The result is an interior that looks virtually identical to how the car would have looked the day that it rolled out of the showroom. Most of the replacement parts for the Mustang were sourced from Scott Drake, and the quality is first-rate.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-5-12-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-5-12-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Under the hood is just as immaculate as the rest of the car. The Mustang rolled off the line with a 390-4V engine and 4-speed manual transmission. The first owner blew the original engine back in the 1970s. The current engine block isn’t original, but it has the correct date code, as does the carburetor and air cleaner. As with the rest of the car, everything has been rebuilt to bring the car back to as close as original as is humanly possible. The owner states that the Mustang drives like a new car.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/mustang-6-1-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-6-1-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] One of the things that I like about this Mustang is the fact that the owner doesn’t say that it is an ultra-low mileage example that has been pampered all of its life. He lists the mileage as 150,000 miles and is open about the fact that the original owner drove the car hard and fast. He is also open about the fact that on top of the original purchase price (which he doesn’t disclose), he has spent $125,000 to restore the Mustang to its current state, and he has all of the receipts to prove it. It is a car that I’m pretty sure that most Mustang aficionados would love to park in their garage. What do you think that it will finally sell for?

For whatever reason, the Marauder has never hung around long. For each of its three iterations, the first run was its longest at only three years. Too bad, as each version has been a pretty cool twist on your typical full-size cruiser. My wife just replaced her ’03 Grand Marquis with a ’03 Marauder so I’ve been giving these older ones a bit of a look lately; what can I say, I’m a completist! This 1969 Mercury Marauder located in Springfield, MO is currently listed for sale here on eBay, with a Buy-It-Now price of $5,750 and features the always appealing “Make Offer” option as well.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/s-l1600-1-16-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/s-l1600-1-16-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] When Mercury revived the Marauder badge in 1969, it was made available with either the 390 or 429 cu/in V8 engine. The 429 was standard in the even more upscale X-100 version of the Marauder, and this one sports it as well but according to the VIN, it is just a nicely optioned base model and not a mis-listed X-100. The seller states there are 65,149 miles on the clock, and while they cannot verify that to be accurate, it does appear to be believable based on the overall condition of the car. According to the seller, the engine runs strong with no smoking on startup and has been test-driven a distance of about 50 miles by his mechanic without issue.

Apparently, the A/C even works and blows cold.

Overall, the Marauder is in very decent, drivable condition. The seller says the original fender skirts are included and are in the trunk – I’m guessing we can probably hold those responsible for the rust in both rear wheel wells, but other than that area the car does appear to be rust free, even in the floors. The seller also indicates that they are aware of a source for replacement rear quarter panels. Other than that, it looks like this Marauder is ready to enjoy right away while working on a restoration!

With the impending winter weather ahead of us we are all tucking away our special rides, and projects. Although our toys are put away, it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with the coming weather. It is easy to fantasize about a fun snow toy like this 2003 Ford F350XL. Prepared for BP (British Petroleum) with an estimated budget of $80k-$90k, this winter beast is ready to roll through anything. You can make this winter wonder yours for the buy it now price of $22,950. Check out this Ford here on eBay out of Durango, Colorado.

Currently this Ford is showing 133,240 miles, but the track conversion has thrown off the odometer and speedometer meaning that the mileage of this Ford is much lower than what the gauge cluster reflects. Although a bit dirty, this truck is described as being in good health, and ready to tame extreme weather.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/2003-Ford-F350-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Unlike many work trucks, this interior is very clean, and the upholstery is not trashed. Although there is “room for 6” I would say this is a 4-seater with room for a few small items. The possibility of this being a lower mileage truck seems very feasible after looking over this interior. Besides the tracks, this truck was also outfitted with power-assist steering, stainless brake lines, tool-boxes, and a 46 gallon fuel tank!

Factory flares, with sheet plastic flairs keep the extremely conditions from flying everywhere. Again even though this is a work truck, its overall condition it very nice. There is a dent in the front bumper, but the seller is supplying a replacement. Despite that small issue, this truck is quite nice. Quite arguably the perfect holiday gift, how much fun could you have with this Ford?

As far as Corvettes go, IMHO, the 63 Split Window is Top Dog.

The owner of this 1963 Corvette is a person who believes in full disclosure, and his advertisement goes to great lengths to list any flaws or defects in a car that he refers to as “a weekend driver.” This Corvette is quite a nice looking car, and it would be up to the new owner if they chose to leave it essentially as it is, or if they decided to undertake a full restoration. You will find the Corvette listed for sale here on eBay. It is located in Oak Park, Illinois, and is being sold with a clear title. The bidding on the Corvette has opened at $55,000 at the time of writing.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/corvette-1-2-e1543396834658-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/corvette-1-2-e1543396834658-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The current owner of the Corvette has been in possession of the car for nearly 30 years, and he uses the car on a fairly regular basis. The car has a few flaws. The paint is looking tired, although the car has undergone a repaint sometime before the owner purchased it. The fiberglass is showing some deterioration, and a couple of cracks have been patched on the edges of both front wheel wells. The frame has also been repaired by a Corvette specialist service, but there is still some rust that will need to be dealt with. The window supports columns and door hinge supports on both sides of the car are also showing some deterioration.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/corvette-3-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/corvette-3-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior is complete on the Corvette, but there is a little bit of restoration work required here. The most obvious thing is the carpet, which is showing some general wear and has also begun to unravel on the passenger side. The lid to the console has also deteriorated and will need reupholstering, while the lid for the glove compartment is also cracked near the bottom. The tachometer will also require repair, but the rest of the gauges are working okay. The rest of the interior actually looks pretty reasonable.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/corvette-4-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/corvette-4-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The owner also states that this is not a true numbers matching car. The engine block is a non-original 1963 block which was fully rebuilt in 2000. The casting was restamped to match the original block number. The car is fitted with a 4-speed manual transmission and is said to run and drive well, with the transmission shifting smoothly. The original gas tank required replacement. Unfortunately, the original factory build sheet had badly deteriorated, and could not be saved. The car is always serviced and maintained by a Corvette specialist and has recently been serviced and fitted with new tires.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/corvette-5-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The split-window was a 1-year-only body style produced by Chevrolet, and they are highly sought after. Prices for good, original examples regularly exceed $100,000, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. This Corvette will need a full restoration to reach those lofty heights, but the potential is certainly there. It is not a true numbers matching car, but even cars that aren’t numbers matching are still regularly achieving prices close to or just on $100,000, which means that there is plenty of potential for this Corvette to be a viable restoration project.

Most of you probably know that Ferruccio Lamborghini originally produced tractors before turning his attention to supercars, but how many of you have seen a Porsche tractor? This one is from 1960/61 and is being offered for sale here on eBay with an asking price of nearly $10,000! Located in Belgrade, Serbia, you’ll have to dust off your passport if you want to check this one out in person.

In this time frame American Porsche-Diesel Corporation…sold approximately 1,000 Porsche-Diesel tractors in North America. Most of the tractors were sold at that time on the East Coast of the USA and Canada.”

These tractors were produced with several cylinder options and horsepower ratings. There is a pretty clear shot of the VIN tag in the ad. The tag indicates a displacement of 1644 cubic centimeters, which means this is a Standard 218 model. Perhaps a keen-eyed reader can share some other important insights into this particular tractor?

It’s hard to tell what else may not be original. I have no idea what the availability of parts for these tractors is. There are several websites featuring Porsche/Diesel Clubs, so there has to be some sort of support for parts and/or questions. What do you think? Have you ever thought about having a tractor project? Let us know.

With so many 1st Generation Mustangs falling victim to rust issues, the original owner took some steps, albeit messy steps, to minimize the chances of this 1968 Mustang GT suffering the same fate. The car, complete with a clear title, is waiting in Jackson, Michigan, for a new owner to return it to the road. You will find it listed for sale here on eBay.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/mustang-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/mustang-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The owner of the Mustang holds the original window sticker and Bill of Sale, verifying that this is a genuine Mustang GT. The body looks good, although the car has undergone a second-rate repaint at some stage before it went into dry storage 30 years ago. The original owner regularly coated the underside of the Mustang with oil when the car was still in regular use. This has left things a bit messy under there, but it has confined the rust to the rear rails where shackles bolt up, one torque box, around one seat bolt plug, and behind one front bumper bracket. Otherwise, the floors, trunk floor and drop offs, shock towers and other weak points on the car are clean. While it also looks like there are some trim components missing, these all appear to be with the car.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/mustang-3-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/mustang-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior of the Mustang is complete, and apart from the tears in the driver’s seat, it all seems to be in good condition. The Hurst shifter is not original, but the owner has the original shifter, and that goes with the car. The car is fitted with upper and lower consoles, and as with the rest of the interior, these are complete, and in good condition. It appears that the majority of the interior will respond well to a deep clean.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/mustang-4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/mustang-4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The 390-4V engine is currently out of the Mustang, but apart from the car now being fitted with a Detroit Locker rear end, everything else is original. The engine has been removed from the car, and the short block is on an engine stand for some undisclosed reason, but all of the original components, including the carburetor, are present. The original 4-speed transmission is also present, and the car is also fitted with power disc brakes.

At the time of writing, there have been 14 people that have been interested enough to bid on the car, and this has pushed the price to $8,100, with the reserve not met. This one seems like a solid candidate for a restoration, so it will be interesting to see just how high the bidding goes.

Update 12/5/2018 – This Mustang has been relisted here on eBay and the seller has decided to lower their reserve, so it will be interesting to see how much it ends up going for!
From 11/20/2018 – Here at Barn Finds, we have certainly seen our share of Mustang project cars.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/mustang-3-13-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2]
The underside of the Mustang is just as clean and tidy as the outside of the car.

For many of us, it would be a dream come true to have a barn that’s jam-packed with muscle cars! Well, the guys over at Restore A Muscle Car didn’t exactly find this barn, rather it’s a collection of barn finds and projects that have been stashed away in the owner’s barn. The original plan was to restore each of these cars, but there aren’t enough hours in the day to fix them all, so they are going to start listing them in hopes that they can find good homes for everything. If you’ve been on the hunt for a muscle car project, especially a Trans Am, you will definitely want to watch their barn walkthrough video here on YouTube!

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Camaro-Z28-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Camaro-Z28-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] There’s definitely an emphasis on Trans Ams in this barn, but according to the video they have other projects parked in other storage locations and at their shop, so it would be worth seeing what else they have! Personally, I wouldn’t mind having one of the H.O. Trans Ams or the bright red Camaro Z/28. I’m sure the Z/28 is well out of my price range, but one of the projects might be a more realistic dream.

I’ve already made my wishlist from this collection, it’s in the mail to Santa already, but I’d love to hear which ones you’d like to have in the comments. Heck, I’d even be happy to just spend an afternoon walking around this barn! We will be keeping an eye on this collection, so stay tuned. And if there is something here you’d love to have, let me know and I will see about getting more info on it!

I know that there are readers who are going to look at this 1970 Mercury Cougar and see a project car that needs little work to complete, while there will be some who will be cautious and skeptical about it. Taking the car on face value, it does seem that a lot of work has been completed for the money. If you look at the Cougar and it really ticks all the boxes for you, then you will find the car located in West Springfield, Massachusetts. It is being sold with a clean title, and you will find it listed for sale here on Craigslist. I have to thank Barn Finder AMXBrian for referring this Cougar to us.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cougar-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Judging by the information provided in the ad description, there has been a lot of work completed on the body of the Cougar to make it a strong and rust-free car. The underside of the car has been stripped, the floors and lower quarter panels have been replaced, and the whole underside has been painted with POR-15. The rest of the body has been stripped, and it is now finished in etch primer. The owner doesn’t provide any shots of the underside of the car, and the imperfections that are visible on the front fender in this shot do make me a bit cautious. There are also some other imperfections visible in other areas of the car. Having said that, I don’t think that I’m alone in believing that I would never buy a car simply on the strength of some photos. I would always want to inspect the car myself or get someone competent to perform the inspection for me.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cougar-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The interior is partially dismantled, but the dash itself looks pretty decent, as does the pad. There are some items missing from the dash, but the owner doesn’t indicate whether these are present, and just not installed. The front seats have been reupholstered, and the car is also fitted with new carpet. If everything is present, then the interior is going to need a serious clean and detail to bring it up to scratch.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/cougar-4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The Cougar is fitted with a 351ci Cleveland V8, an automatic transmission, and a Posi rear end with 3.55 gears. The transmission is freshly rebuilt, while the owner has certainly had plenty of nice work done on the 351. The engine has been bored .030″ over. It has been fitted with Keith Black pistons, a Competition cam, MSD distributor and ignition, and a new 4-barrel carburetor. The brakes have also been given the treatment, with new lines, new wheel cylinders, new front discs, the rear brakes have been rebuilt, and the car has also been fitted with new shocks.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/cougar-5-630x390.jpg

Certainly, the mechanical work that has been completed should make this a car that performs really well. A personal inspection would confirm how well the rust repairs and body preparation have been performed. The owner says that the car is complete, and merely requires finishing and reassembly. He has priced the car for sale at $6,500. Is this a project that you would take on?

Automotive enthusiasts visiting southern California or other dry climates often express amazement at how many “classic” cars serve as daily drivers for decades without having been restored, refurbished, or pampered, or even taken off the road for significant lengths of time. They simply go on and on, fulfilling their intended purpose, providing transportation. Sure, they need brakes and filters and mufflers and the occasional engine or transmission, but otherwise they just soldier on and on. This 1969 Mustang Mach 1 listed here on Los Angeles, California craigslist appears to fall into this category. The passenger door appears to have been repaired or replaced, and the Mach 1 should have dual racing mirrors and pin-latches on the hood. Otherwise there’s not much to complain about here, unless you don’t fancy the $29,000 asking price. Thanks to our own Adam C. for spotting this So-Cal classic.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1969-Mustang-390-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Fans of recent Mustangs will recognize this tail light signature. Both bumpers look super-shiny either from being well kept or replaced. Original-style louvers would be handy to shade the interior from southern California’s intense sunlight, further amplified by the Mach 1’s nearly flat rear glass. On older re-spray may have covered the matte-black hood treatment.

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1969-Mustang-390-3-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2]
This dual-pod dashboard must have looked like a rocketship cockpit in 1969. By comparison the dash of my ’66 Dodge had all the style of a valve control panel at the local refinery. The Mach 1 package could be matched with various powerplants, and included mostly cosmetic upgrades (thanks to paintref.com for some details).

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/1969-Mustang-390-4-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1969-Mustang-390-4-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] Few factory air cleaner housings survived a Mustang owner’s desire to add bling with a ‘$25 chrome air filter from K-Mart, but this one did! Anyone familiar with Ford’s venerable 260-289-302 will immediately recognize the bulkier 390 “FE” engine. Though not as high-strung as the Trans-Am-bred Boss 302 or as wicked as the Boss 429, the 390 cubic inch V8 provides satisfying thrust above the typical 302 or 351, and anyone with a fat wallet can build a 390 to achieve personal satisfaction. The new vacuum advance module pays tribute to the normal maintenance required to keep a car on the road for decades. There’s no OBDII port under the dashboard but you can still use YouTube to diagnose most problems with a car of this vintage. How would you finish this mid-level Mustang?

Reader Ben M has done a ton of work to his 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 and it’s in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, he needs to find a new home for it. It’s a 390 V8 equipped car, so it should be fun to cruise in. The mechanicals have already been refreshed and it was repainted in 2010. Ben admits it has a few cosmetic flaws but is in otherwise great condition. He’s asking $8,900, which seems like a very reasonable price for a nice big block driver. If you’d love to give this Galaxie a new home, be sure to message him via the form below!
What Makes It Special? My 1965 Galaxie 500 features the 390 V8 with Cruise-o-matic automatic transmission. In 2010, it was painted and the engine, transmission, brakes & suspension were done at that time as well. In 2018 it got a new fuel tank, carb and tires/wheels. Also, I installed a Petronics ignition and a new distributor.

Body Condition: Body is in very good overall condition. Paint is deep and clear but there are a few imperfections. Would classify paint as above average but not perfect. All panels and lines are straight. Interior is in very good condition.
Mechanical Condition: This car runs cool and smooth on the highway and around town. No known mechanical issues.

This really does seem like a great deal for a nice classic. Getting a car painted these days will easily set you back the asking price of this one, plus you’d still have the cost of fixing the interior and mechanical systems. While it’s fun to restore a classic muscle car, it sure would be nice to be able to jump right into this one and drive it away! So, if you’ve been hunting for a turnkey Galaxie 500, be sure to contact Ben via the form below and work out a deal!
If you have a classic car that needs a good home, please consider listing it for sale here on Barn Finds!
  • Asking Price: $8,900
  • Location: Marion, Arkansas
  • Title Status: Clean

[h=1]Cheap First Gen! 1989 Ford Taurus SHO[/h] image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Jeff-Lavery_avatar_1510763369-24x24.jpg

In the latest chapter of, “Why isn’t this car worth more?”, I ask how a clean first-generation Ford Taurus SHO can be selling so cheaply. It looks clean, stock, and is described as being in excellent condition. It is listed for sale by the long-time second owner, and I wonder if the mileage is any indication he doesn’t want to deal with the big 60,000 mile service. Find it here on craigslist for $3,500.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/taurus-rear-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/taurus-rear-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The SHO is said to have some paint fade on the roof and wear to the driver’s seat, but otherwise remain free from significant cosmetic ills. The bodywork looks tidy and the SHO-specific aero kit is still attached, along with the basketweave-style wheels that came on the first-gen cars. The listed mileage is 59K, which means this SHO is ready for its major 60,000 mile service – and could be the reason for its cheap disposal.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/taurus-motor-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/taurus-motor-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The 60,000 mile service is a big one, and somewhat pricey and involved. Components that are replaced in the 60K include the waterpump, timing belt and accessory belts, crankshaft position sensor, removing the intake, replacement of plugs and wires, and pulling the valve covers off and replacing the shims that contact the camshaft and press down on the valve springs.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/taurus-interior.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"337","width":"600","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/taurus-interior.jpg"}[/IMG2] It’s not uncommon to see SHOs of the first and second generation get dumped right as that big service comes do. It’s a shame, as these cars don’t ask a lot of their owners beyond regular servicing and the 60K. Still, this one represents an opportunity for someone to pick up a clean SHO cheaply and either DIY or find a specialist to tackle the work and have a fun highway bahnstormer for years to come.

This eBay listing shows a fleet of project-grade De Tomaso Pantera, and I believe we’ve featured items from this same seller before. If so, he has amassed one of the larger collections of project grade Panteras and this yellow coupe is his latest offering. The Pantera is said to have been stored in a warehouse while being disassembled and is now offered here on eBay where bidding is over $16K and the reserve remains unmet.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/pantera-side-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/pantera-side-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The thick coating of dust paints a picture as to how long this Pantera has been sitting, either in its prior warehouse arrangement or outside in the Thousand Oaks, California, sunshine. Check out the background – there’s at least one other project-grade Pantera and another that appears to be in fair condition with gleaming yellow paint.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/pantera-interior-e1544463858735-630x390.jpg

I’m guessing long-term exposure to the sun hasn’t done the dash any favors, and the door seal has also perished. But these are wear items to be expected out of any long-idled project that’s been awaiting total restoration.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/pantera-motor-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/pantera-motor-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] The seller notes the engine remains numbers matching but that the previous owner did take it down to the block before the project stalled. As he points out, it could make more sense to rebuild one the way you want to as opposed to buying a restored Pantera, and I feel prices on these have settled a bit – so buying a cheaper project-grade example may make sense in the short-term. Would you buy a project Pantera or a completed example?

Sometimes a car will come along, and there is just something about it that appeals to your own personal taste. For me, this 1974 Buick Gran Sport is just such a car. The combination of style, color, and wheels just works for me. I have to thank Barn Finder Rocco B for referring the Buick to us. If it also catches your eye, you will find it listed for sale here on Craigslist. It is located in Lutz, which is just north of Tampa, Florida, and is being sold with a clean title.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/buick-2-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/buick-2-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] One of the things that I find interesting about the text for the ad on Craigslist is the fact that the owner doesn’t make wild or outrageous claims about the mileage on the Buick. When a car looks this good, that would be so easy to do. The presentation of the car is incredibly good, with a nice shine on the Royal Red paint. The vinyl top looks really good, and it is hard to find a flaw in the car. It is also solid, and I’ve included a photo gallery at the bottom of the article that includes a number of shots of the underside of the car, and it’s as clean as they come.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/buick-3-2-630x390.jpg

A bit of research has confirmed that the owner’s claim that this is 1 of 579 Gran Sports built in 1974 with that engine is correct. The car comes fitted with power brakes, power steering, and ice cold air conditioning. As with the outside of the car, the engine bay also presents incredibly well, and it is hard to find fault with it.

image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/buick-4-2-630x390.jpg
[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","height":"390","width":"630","src":"https:\/\/barnfinds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/buick-4-2-630x390.jpg"}[/IMG2] While the interior generally follows along with the rest of the car with its presentation, there are a couple of deviations from original. The original radio is still in place in the dash, but there is an aftermarket CD player mounted under the dash. The clock has also been removed from the dash, and there is an aftermarket temperature gauge located in its place. Otherwise, the interior looks good, and while the owner doesn’t elaborate on it, the car does appear to be fitted with power windows and a tilt wheel.

However, nice cars will always come at a price. The owner has set an asking price of $22,500 for the Gran Sport. Take a good look at the photos and see what you think.
