2024 Race season

Wild race, with Max winning, pretty much gets him his 4th championship
he would have to be knocked out of 2 with Lando winning both to keep him in it now
Hard to beleive they repaved is was bumpier than last year, drivers saying nasty to drive.

As much as the rain makes it different, not sure it was great racing.

Was a Great race, waking up at 2 am to watch a North American race, hmmm
but lots of passing, Hamilton put on a show to finish 2nd, merc 1-2
Max won is 4th consecutive drivers championship,
Ferrias finished 3-4 Constructors championship still in play .

2 more to go, should be great finish.

It was a good race, other than the fact that George was so far ahead early in the race, he just had to keep pace, no exciting challenges for the win.

I would have loved to see the goal for the 2024 driver championship dragged out till the very last race. Knowing Max already has it in the bag kind of takes the edge off. Sure the manufacture championship is still on the line, but it doesn't get me anywhere near as excited as when it's down to a driver. I think the last races would have been far more exciting to watch as well.

Still a few unanswered questions re some drivers futures. I have to wonder how many chances Williams will they give Colapinto before they cut their losses? Estimated $10 million he's cost them in just the last two races. Will Tsunoda be 2nd team driver to Max? Some suggest that Yuki deserves the opportunity. We now are almost assured Bottas will not replace Perez, as some had speculated. Lawson's name is still being juggled about in the media as a Perez replacement. He seems to be as skilled as Yuki already, in just the few races so far. Red Bull's senior advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that the team's shareholders will decide the driver lineups for both Red Bull Racing and VCARB following a report to be submitted after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Perez's current contract is in effect till the end of 2025 season, although he can be released.
Is this really Bottas's last year in F1, or will Cadillac/GM consider him for the team. He has hinted that may be a choice for him. Sauber made the decision to overhaul its driver lineup for the upcoming season, bringing in Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg and Formula 2 championship frontrunner Gabriel Bortoleto, effectively replacing Bottas and Zhou Guanyu for the 2025 season. Smart move in my opinion, especially removing Zhou, who has done nothing this season.. Looking forward to see what Bearman can do for Hass next year..he is very talented.

Bill all of the above is spot on and will come out in next few weeks,

My take Bottas, will be new Merc reserve driver, why I have no idea, but experince won't hurt.

Sanez and Leclerc seem like might blow up.

Russel had it Easy because Lewis blew p3
he was way faster and had he been any further up the grid it would not have been a race
it would been 1-2 in different order, fun to watch his drive.

Lots of drama to come, I say the give perez a Vcarb seat and IMO Yuki has erned the shot, but is not going to get it.

Can new fix Aston martin in one year?
So many sotires for next few weeks and so many already started for next year.

And now the big one, deserves its own post.

Cadillac is in F-1 WOW and I think cool.

Andretti steps down, GM steps up, Mafia resigns and a week later

GM is in with Michaels factory to Build the cars, hmmmm
Mario is director of the board. Michael saying nothing but Congrats to every who worked so hard
and wishing all the best.

Why do I believe there is alot more to this yet to come?
Thoughts anyone? does Michael show up at some point in some roll ?

Why do I not believe he worked this hard to get there and is never going to be there.
Or is this just way to save face, roll it all out and let him be somebody later?

Oh and it makes US gov. go back to washington, which I think had alot to do with this.

More questions than answers and year and half we will see, what does this looks like for real.

Max loses pole, after driving too slow;
Realy close qualifying, should be a good race,
not a great track for over taking.
But super fast track. G- forces are nuts.
Going to be some tires drivers end of this race.

Not sure I would say this was a good race, track is super fast which is fun, but not great for passing.
Track officials made to many mistakes as did drivers, which caused all kinds of crazy stuff.

Last race Dubai next week, still lots to play for.

Yeah it was a weird race, not one of my fave tracks, too flat and not enough overtaking opps.
Lots of safety cars etc to spice things up, could have been closer if Norris hadn’t screwed up under the yellows.

Norris Penatly, keeps Ferrai within reach, at a track where ferrari should be good.
if nothing else, should be good ending.

Lots going on, O'con out and Jack Doonhan in, might be interesting.
Perez, Perez, Perez ?????

Hamiltons last race with Merc.

Lots of folks last race, so a bit of passing of the torch
which makes the build up to 2025 interesting as well.

You have to hand it to Max, he is sure great at starts. Poor George was handed his butt, unless he had a guilt trip about his complaint that lost Max the pole, and purposely let himself get passed? Apparently Max was extremely pissed at George at the stewards meeting the night before, when the penalty was handed out. If so I doubt he was too pleased when Norris passed him as well..

Zhou's finish was certainly a huge surprise, but it was too little too late, and like Bottas, both the Kick Sauber drivers were given the boot. Fair enough as they have both been terrible this season. F2's leader, Gabriel Bortoleto, and Nico Hulkenberg will fill the seats in 2025
I'm actually somewhat surprised their seats weren't filled earlier in the season. Bottas, who has previously won ten Grand Prix's, and 67 podium finishes, has done very poorly this season. His last win was with Mercedes in 2021. Are his best days gone, or with a new team could he make a comeback? He's hoping that Redbull may take the risk, and sign him as a reserve driver. Redbull appears to be looking at their choices as to a potential future partner for Max. Several names are currently circulating. Not sure if Bottas is one of them..
Will Perez take the hint that Horner was subtly suggesting during his interview with Sky Sports, saying " I'm going to let Checo (Perez) come to his own conclusions, nobody's forcing him one way or another, he's old enough and wise enough to know what the situation is, and yeah, let's see where we are after Abu Dhabi."

Vasseur is still sounding confident on Hamilton's potential with the Ferrari, in spite of his poor performances recently. In recent interviews, Hamilton certainly sounded like he was admitting he was on a downhill slope. Could be he is just very frustrated with his car this season, and a team change may be all that he needs to rebound. I sure hope Ferrari gives him a car that contend next season, as I'd hate to see his career end poorly, for what many consider the best driver in F1 history. Sure he's tied with Schumacher for seven World Championships, but he has far more podium finishes than all other F1 drivers. 202 podiums so far, in comparison to Schumachers 155. Mind you, Max has already hit 112 in his eight years, whereas Hamilton's career is in it's 17th year..Looking forward to 2025 to see what Lewis can do.

I see now where Norris had now been further penalized for his yellow flag infraction. He also rec'd 3 penalty points on his F1 license.

Apparently if a driver reaches 12 points, they are banned from a future race. Max currently has 6 on his license. The points are eventually removed after a year has passed.

Bottom line, it’s a major safety infringement, there could be people on the track, so they have to make drivers take notice that this is a serious offence. I used to be a track side marshall, so that is one aspect where you rely on drivers for your safety.
