new e-mustang

I think Ford is gambling huge.
Like all in at the world series of poker.
They used the name to help promote it, what the executives
were not smart enough to understand, is that they are messing with an Icon.

So they hope to lunch this EV to millions on the back of the Mustang brand.
In doing so, they could potentially ruin the Mustang brand!!!
It will take a few years to see what this results in, but IMO it was a huge mistake.
Obviously I am a huge mustang supporter.
But I understand what makes a Mustang special, to bad the people at Ford don't.

Heritage, history and legacy be damned, in the name of selling what they hope will be the
next hot thing. I don't think we as consumers, especially old hot rodders will slow down the coming of
EV to the world market, its a reality. But they risked losing loyal brand fans by turing the Mustang
into just another car. Which means why buy it, share it, mod it or promote it to millions
of true Mustang enthusiasts.

I wonder if like the phone and cable companies, they are saying screw it, we will lose some but gain more new sales.
Big gamble if they are wrong and IMO a gamble they didn't have to take.
They are lunching a new Bronco, lots of excitement around this and a very well known name.
Why not the Bronco EV along with its other lines.

Nope the powers to be have decided to go all in on the Mustang brand,
As an avid Mustang fan, I will take my little stand in my corner of the world.
I will not sit in test drive or ever consider buy this from Ford.
Even more important, if the day comes when I consider an EV it will not
Have a Mustang logo.

I am even pissed off enough to consider selling my Mustang Stock.
( not enough for anyone to notice) LOL but still I am that offended by this.
I hope it does a fast painful death, for two reasons, one its an insult to my life
long passion and equally important its and insult to think we as Mustang enthusiasts
are just ok with anything they shove down our throats. Its important for these massive
manufactures to remember customers still matter.

P.S. Aaron, not gonna be to harsh on this one.
Martin, tell your friend, he is no friend to any real Mustang enthusiasts.
Hope he and everyone involved with this gets fired.

What an insult to Mr. Shelby and Mr. Iacocca as well. Those two men were real passionate about the Mustang and dedicated themselves to design, market, sell, improve and make it the icon it came to be, Shelby must be turning over in his resting place??

And like all of us feel what an insult to their fan base !!! No respect on Ford's part here !!! I can't believe they went that route ??

Just came back from work and the boys were on me all day teasing about this even asking when I'm gonna plug mine in ?? And most don't even know a darn thing about cars, they just found it funny that there is an electric "Mustang" now.......

Been a Ford fan all my life (following father's footsteps I guess) but this is really frustrating to me. So many names out there they could have used..................................

So, you’re on the fence about it then Trevor.......... ??????????

By the comments so far, I don't think we're likely going to have one of these on the Fall run in 2021! Interesting watching the comments across a bunch of Mustang FB groups. Questions already asked on the Blue Mustang Registry whether they will allow registrations for the Mach e. Admins are "considering carefully". If the Mach e is aimed at a new audience for the brand, will they also bring in a van model? By the time all that gets sorted out, I'll probably be in the market for a wheelchair van, so who knows??!

yeah no kidding Aaron. Problem is they looked at trying to grab new market share with a new SUV without thinking what the name would do to an existing very vocal passionate customer base. They have ruined an iconic car in my opinion as soon as they slapped 2 more doors on it. Do I get the market segment they are going after? Yup!! They just went at it wrong.

interesting today, on the radio they were talking about this car and the 2 talking about were not real car folks.
Nothing was said about the fact they named it a Mustang.

They did a fast mini twitter poll, asking would you buy an EV
3% yes
3% no
38% when the run out of gas to sell.
55% when they are affordable, would consider it.

Seems to me in North America its a bit of a tough sell without massive rebates.
Ford has to go down this road, I get it, but why would they risk pissing of loyal
existing customers for this? To be honest I have no idea.
Quebec is leading the country in EV sales, but they have cheap electricity.

Europe will move faster because of populations and shorter commute differences.
they already have EV's for sale in the $35 k range. so getting to better price point,
mind you those are what our gas version 20k cars look like.

I have a forum I belong to out of the UK that is international and main topics are not cars,
I going to ask what they think of the new EV mustang and the fact its branded a Mustang.
See what we get.
