What did you do to your mustang today

I've read good things about Barton and MGW shifters.
Both are at the top for shifters now days.
High level engineering and quality materials in both.
I have Hurst billet from several years ago.
Does the job but Barton and MGW way ahead of that now.
Should be nice.
Very different feel from stock.
 
I have the BBK's. They get the job done.
FYI, with ported heads and big cams, my tuner tells me going off road is worth only 5 extra hp over high flow cats.
So most likely less than that on stock heads and cams.
Now you have information to decide if worth it over risking failing annual inspection in NB.
I have the high flow cats.
I want to pass inspection anywhere with any tech.

With stock heads and Hot Rod cams, BBK LT's with high flow cats get you 22 extra hp over cams alone on 91 octane tune.
I don't have numbers for stock cams, but 15+ is probably realistic to hope for with good tune.

I know this is unsolicited but if it can help in your choice...
My vendor/tuner also counselled me to get the chrome headers at the time and put the savings elsewhere.
There is no difference in performance.
With our cars never seeing road salt, they will hold up.
I don't like the chrome look under hood but the heat has burned the chrome off.
They now have a nice blueing to them.
Been rode hard on track with mods and still as stout as the day they went in.
Might be a chance for you to free up a couple hundred bucks toward something else.

For Mineral Grey, again, I recognize this is unsolicited and I do so with respect.
I see from your picture on previous page that you have a K&N cold air intake.
This K&N is not one of the better performing CAI's out there,
With money you save by getting chrome LT's over ceramic, I would take that money and invest in a JLT series III CAI.
This CAI's increased airflow will improve your intake side and give you added hp on its own over the K&N.
It will maximize your investment in your LT's.
Your engine is a system and will be limited by it's weak point, or in this case choke point.
Your return on investment in LT's will be reduced if your intake side is restricted.
LT's are all about air flow.
Better flow in will help better flow out.
A JLT series III with LT's installed and tuned together will yield impressive return.
Also, the JLT is all plastic so it will reduce heat soak over your current K&N, which looks like chrome.
If you look up the JLT series III, it is easily visible that the inlet tube is considerably larger than the K&N.

Noted, and thank you for the info...i Might just get the chrome then and i did want to replace the k&n too.

I have an MGW on my BULLITT, and it is night and day compared to the stock shifter. I would Highly recommend MGW, You won't be disappointed.
 
My 2 cents on shifters: MGW is the best out there from user reports. Next would be any shifter with a BlowFish Racing mount. Most of the poor shifting with S197 and newer with the MT 82 transmission is due to misalignment because the shifter is mounted to the floor not the transmission. MGW is a great shifter and is mounted to the trans. The Blowfish mount will move the shifter to the trans. I have the Blowfish and I am happy with it, but I would have gone with the MGW had I known about it. I had the barton shifter mount and found it ineffective, probably would have been better with firmer motor mounts and the whiteline transmission mount insert.
 
OK gents,

Too much sadness surrounding us around here lately so now looking to brightening up things a bit. Being that Roger spent a bit on snow removal stuff this winter I think he's going to pass on trading the old Fun GT for newer model and just opt for new wheels instead. My two finalists are these ones so any comments and thoughts would gladly be appreciated. Which ones do you prefer ??

Shelby wheels are my choice. Don't dump your current set without us having a chat!
 
I agree with last two opinions. Your current wheels look great on your car.
Put money on something else, Mustang oriented of course.
But if it has to be a choice between these two, I vote Shelby all the way.
Color will look good with your car, like your current wheels do.
And, always thinking future mods, you know they will give you room for Brembo brake upgrade, should you ever consider that.
I don't know anything about the others.
When it comes to wheels, I like to keep it to the Ford group of partner companies.
Such as SVT/Ford Performance, Shelby, BBS, and RTR (Made by Classic Design Concept).
 
I love my current set up as well and cannot find anything that hits my eye like the ones I have on now do. The only reason I am considering switching is the inside of the wheels are getting pitted more and more and I really like having stuff up to pare especially when sitting in car shows. I always washed the inside of my wheels (plus waxed once a year,removed wheels) but now find there is no use doing it due to the pitting. Looked at having them re-finished and most say I'm better off to just paint the insides which doesn't seem to interest me as it would not be professionally done. Outside of the wheels I have on now are just like new so yes it would be an option to just keep them but really would like new ones which would bring car more up to my expectations. Ah decisions decisions ? (Yep Aaron I will certainly keep you posted if I decide to make the move).
 
Definitely a tough decision when looking at something that will drastically change the look, hopefully for the better. Here a pic that has a bit of a comparison although these are just black and not black chrome . Either way I think they would both look good if you do choose to replace rims this year..
