Great stuff, Al. Congrats! 🤙

OK, I was going to leave my comment at the above and bite my tongue, but my OCD is getting in the way.

Like Fred and Trevor, on a nearly 20 year old car, with solid rear axle to boot, I too would pay serious attention to suspension and brakes with that kind of power upgrade.
I know you have good wheels and rubber already.

Still, great stuff and congrats! 🤙

Aaron, The hood pins are already on the block and will be on this spring👍
I am planning on getting oversized Brembo calipers sometime this year. If anyone knows of any around, let me know. Most of the front suspension has already been done and i Already have rear upper and lower control arms with relocation brackets in a basket waiting to go. The GT500 that the transmission came from had around 45k on it so there is a new clutch kit going in..

Are the brakes from the same GT500 not available? And wheels while at it?
Those would be perfect.

Sorry to say, you might need new wheels to accommodate those Brembo callipers.

Not just for diameter, which I think you have 20’s.
But for offset.
Those Brembo callipers are beefy wide and require a certain offset.
Not all 18, 19 or 20 wheels fit over them just because they are 18, 19 or 20’s.

Once again, nice project.

If I get a line on brakes I’ll let you know, but I’m guessing those will be hard to come by on the used or slightly used market.
We’re a few years late for the “take-off” market, so best bet is probably looking at new stuff. Not many people take those off of working cars. Most people look to add them.
Good luck with this part.

If I can help or answer any questions for the brakes, wheels or suspension, I’d be glad to.
Don’t hesitate. 🤙

I agree on the brakes, search far and wide, that thing is going to move and likely shock you how fast it gets there.
First time you use the brakes, your going to say shit, will take some adjustment for sure.

I am working on project and now super excited to see yours woohoo, this run is going to be epic.
seeing, hearing this car and on the dyno should be wicked. 😁

When he started he said 2 weeks would be more than enough time, but I might get him to do change out the calipers since they already have the front down. Also just added the quick latch hood pins, and if rear control arms come in, he will do those too..
I need to have a private conversation and compare notes, good future reference
Not sure about $$$ but suspect yours will be done a lot faster but then again mine currently is a shell no glass interior or anything. But be interesting to chat compare notes
