Thought of the day.

I'm one of three that admin a Facebook group, and it can be time consuming as heck, so I can imagine it is a challenge...Have to lean on your Moderators a bit more perhaps?

Surprisingly the chill is gone and it is pretty comfortable. May say different in the middle of the night after I shut off the generator. l

I understand there are other ways to keep warm at night. Apparently it does cause a surge in birth rates 9 months later though..lol

I hope things get back to normal for you soon !

Still no power home. Picked up 3 small ceramic heaters at Walmart for $27 each. yesterday. Was so warm in bedroom this morning that I turned that one off. The Generator has been going since 8 AM yesterday. Only stop for refuel and to check oil. Filled it at 11 last night and was still running at 7. Checked oil, still full and refueled. NB Power hasn't put a timeline on when we will be back up. Still showing 450 Customers without in our small Local Service District. Have to keep mine on cause of sump pump and water pump. Not on city water.

Glad to hear that Fred. Good thing you had some type of back up as well. Think this has been a lesson for many as all I've been hearing in the past few days is how people are going to rig themselves up for such situations.

My Friend Marc that owns the 73 Mach1 is in the Hardware Supply Business was getting calls from the Stores he supplies yesterday that were looking for generators for Customers, as of yesterday as far as he knew, there were no Generators in the Province of NB. Glad I got mine and had the auxiliary panel installed after last ice storm. :FordSmile

Not sure if you guys remember but at the Sunday Cruise in to CTs at the end of 2015 I won the generator raffle. Well in Dec just gone I finally got an electrician to put the sepearate panel in for me and fired up that generator for the very first time. Am I glad I did that, it was invaluable, especially like Fred where we are on a well and also need the sump pump etc. We were without power for 27 hours, long enough, but I know others like Charlie have had to suffer a lot longer.

Been a long haul for some of you waiting for power to be restored. Buddy of mine just got his back yesterday afternoon....and he's in the city. He was telling me that they had power behind him and all around but his small portion was left in the dark for two days longer. Strange how that works sometimes.

Yeah our generator was definitely a Savior. We ran extension cords but I will be looking at the panel setup as it is cleaner for sure. We finally got our power back late Friday evening. It was a long haul for sure. But we had food and water and a bit of heat so it was all good. And on a different note we played hoard games with our teenage kids and everyone had some fun and laughs. No power or Wifi was a way for us to spend some quality family time together. Definitely a positive out of the unfortunate circumstances we were faced with.

Funny how it takes terrible events, for us sometimes to do what we should always do.
I remember doing the same stuff when we lost power as a kid.
