Thought of the day.

Tough to get t-boned in a roundabout, I think there's a safety factor at play here for sure.

Roundabouts are relatively new here in Ontario too, and people are always resistant to change.

Once people learn to use them correctly they're pretty slick, and move things along nicely, I'm a fan of them myself.

Then again, some idiots will never learn to drive properly, no cure for stupid. lol

I've been very bad communicating during this season. Lot's of things happened. Got married (after 10 years with my now wife), kids were happy and life has been just busy. Did not had time to go around that much, only to the Formula 1 and a couple of trips to Edmunston to visit my Mother in law.
I've been thinking on selling my mustang as I need to prioritize some stuff. I put it on autotrader to see if is any interest (worst time of the year), but if not I will wait until the next year. Anyone looking for a nice 2014 GT CS?....lol....anyway, sorry for not showing up on any of the events this year...next for sure I will be around (on a mustang or something else).

Congrats on the wedding.
Fred finds humour in pretty much anything.

On traffic circles, my previous career totally prepares me to understand, appreciate and agree with the safety value they bring as mentioned by Aaron.

On that safe driving point, I leave you with this gem:
There are no traffic accidents as that would require an act of god or similar.
There are, on the other hand, plenty of collisions where human error is the cause.

Doing some research and gaining some further understanding of the highway design and usage is important. Alot of slams made over roundabout development, particularly in PEI. The concept is largely to address dangerous intersections to eliminate fatal and serious injury collisions. Anybody read an article about a fatal t bone collision occurring in a roundabout?

Bsd driving behaviors are evident on most every trip down the road. Put those behaviours into a situation where several different, manageable maneuvers are being performed by different drivers, and the visible results are obvious.

Exactly. Just ask the insurance lady in my house lol.

Insurance, there’s another bag of worms.

I’m not fan of no fault system.
Insurance companies making a killing in profits since that came about.
You can be most careful and diligent driver but some idiot plows into you, say at those dangerous intersections that the roundabouts are replacing, and you have a collision against you on your driving record with your company.
Never mind that you are NOT at fault.

One decent thing insurance companies have done in recent years is to change the way they classify incidents involving wildlife.
Those are now charged under your comprehensive coverage and don’t count as a collision on your part for your safe driver discount.

Roundabouts are lots of fun, especially on a damp day with a rear wheel drive car, but I digress.

i come from the land of roundabouts, we have them everywhere in the UK and have every size from a small dimple up to....... things like this, the magic roundabout in Swindon. Which is 5 small roundabouts around a larger roundabout that you can go round in either direction!

Trip to Glen's this morning seeing all kinds of tools, that belong to his father
was interesting, some of it should be in a Museum. Gerry dropped over with coffee ( thank you)
Glen now has the envious task of sorting it out.

Time of year the odd gathering will be without cars, I was in my truck.
Gerry Brought his 72 F-250 always cool.

Had a Bit of a Health Scare last week. Wednesday Mid Day, Had Unexplained Pain and Numbness in my Right Arm. Friend at work who had 4 Heart Stints installed last year, pointed out to me that pain in Arm doesn't necessarily have to be on left side to be Heart related and he STRONGLY suggested that I go the the Hospital Emergency Department Immediately and he would drive me to the Hospital.

I spent 6 and a half hours there, had an Electrocardiogram , 2 blood tests (3 hours apart), a chest X Ray and a CT Scan of Cranium.

Everything came back Good, with no sign of Heart or Brain Trauma. Had a Stress Test Friday and passed that as well, with Flying colors.

After going through all of that, pretty sure I know what problem is know, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. 10 Years of Typing long Reports for the Provincial Government, using non ergonomically correct work stations.

I have been experiencing neck pain on same side as arm that was bothering me, for years, along with elbow pain.

Have already started filling out the Workers Compensation Forms and will see my Family Doctor and get Work Safe to provide Physio etc.

While Uncomfortable, this is Way Better than Heart Disease. :FordSmile
