after 4 days of no power from hurricane Arthur a few years back, i went a bought a nice big generator and hooked up a pony panel to feed most of the house. guess what haven't lost power since..lol . every time we hear the media scaring the bejusus out of everyone of a new upcoming storm , i think , this is it, i get to use my generator..maybe tomorrow i can ..who knows..

WE have an 8,000 Watt , 10,000 Watt start up, Briggs and Stratton Generator with an Auxiliary Panel in house for it. In the Country with a Water and Sump Pump it's a must. Power failures here at least every year or two.

We have home made Beans cooking in the Slow Cooker for tonight's supper. It's not exactly BBQ weather.

Well, look at the Bright Side, at least this weather is arriving 2 weeks ahead of the Fall Run. :FordSmile

NSP is reporting 19000 customers out of power already. Most along the south shore to yarmouth.

Now there are 61500 with out power. Going to be a S*#! Storm before it's done. Only had one flicker on the power here.

It's kicking up pretty good now. NSP Customer with out pwr is now up to 73,500 . Yikes!

Trees are moving a bit, but still pretty calm. Been raining steady since 10 here.

Well the power is off in a lot of place, mostly halifax west. No at 95,000. Hang on to your hat.

According to my rain gauge we've had 22mm or almost an inch of rain so far

Power went out and flicked back on here in Dartmouth. NSP reporting 127,000 now.

Storm upgraded to Cat 2 and 171,000 out of power.

no power here, got generator running, turned on cable and internet.
coffee machine so far lol. Priorities LOL
when I was outside, lots of brashness and leaves .
one big tree down out back, but not touching anything, so no biggie.
starting to get real windy here now.
They say, next 4-5 hours suppose to be worst of it.

Just looked at weather network and enviro canada.
both Satellites showing its almost past us, hmmmmm
shows western side of province getting the worst of it now.
Not sure how accurate that is.

8-9 starts calming down.

Rain and wind picking up here now just past the airport. A couple of Halifax buildings have lost roofs Still have power but have had a few flickers - let’s hope it stays till supper is ready!

Lost power about half hour ago. Right in the middle of cooking some supper. Got the camp stove out to finish off. 271.000 with out power now.

Rain here is pretty much done, some winds from the back end of this
to come yet. But looks like worst is over here. Looked around a bit here
an hour ago, no major damage, one tree down, not affecting much.
Branches and leaves all over the place, but clean up only, so not bad.

I am sure I got off better than many, I hope our friends in Northern NS, NB and PEI
also far well. becareful and Stay safe.

power out for couple hours our amazing electric crew got it back on for now. winds picking up as we type blowing like hell. Higher winds and severe rain to come later. Think I have lots of rum and beer to servive the storm.

Lost power here in NB about 6.15pm, so running on generator for the essentials, you know WIFI, TV, Fridge for beer ??

Some rain some wind in Rothesay today. A few trees and lines down and scattered debris, also missing a few shingles that I will have to replace tomorrow . Still no use for my generator ..
