I know all about it material and labour soooo expensive now. I did composite decking and aluminum rails doubled the cost, but should last a lot longer
Wow those are crazy quotes. Hopefully you find somewhere in the middle. Must be a big deck
Nice!! Lumber is a huge part of that the way it keeps going up.

Tell me about lumber prices. ?
I’m pulling the trigger on a 30 by 46 build.
Last year had dreams of insulating and heating as a “Garage”.
Cost of lumber prohibiting the insulation and heating dreams.
All of a sudden it’s an unheated equipment shed. ?
But you can still store cars in “equipment sheds”.
There is still faint hope I can add the Mach 1, if it gets built, rather than having to trade for it.
Small victories.
Appreciate them and move on. ?

Fingers crossed you add and not trade for the Mach 1 Marc.
I think if you add it, all will be forgotten when it shows up.
I still have some regret about getting rid of my '06 'vert, but it's all down to life circumstances and opportunity.
On topic, I recently replaced a broken 6"x6"x10' pressure treated fence post and was surprised they were $70 each. ?

Thanks Marc. Yeah we are happy with how it is coming along. The lumber is still nuts. I priced it in March. When I finally ordered it it was $3000 more and climbing. Crazy.

Heat and insulation can be added later - on with the builds!
Actually we just decided this week we are going to match the existing garage and go with a Spanish texture throughout. No need for painting.
Still working on the heat source. I put a plug in for another construction heater however I am undecided if that is the route I want to go or not.

If it’s going to be a “clean garage” I’d go for the heat pump option. I went propane as well when I put on my addition - not cheap to run but nice heat and as most of you know my shop has lots of “ dusty and dirty “work go through the doors at my place - I was not sure the heat pump would survive

Good point, I heat mine all year and with gas prices so high now I’ll have to look at my options this year. But I am probably no were as dusty and dirty as your place. More storage than anything
