I don't think he ever worked for Ford, I believe he was always independent
and got parts and money from Ford.

Yep. Shelby always worked for his own company, Shelby American, Inc., not directly for Ford. I never knew the movie would be so informative.

A few years ago I watched "A Faster Horse" about the evolution and design of the 50th anniversary series. It was pretty cool.

I guess we are back to you again.
 
Too low, remember the base Coyote was 412 HP in 2011 and the Boss had machined cylinder heads made of high strength aluminum alloy as well as a revised intake manifold to help make a 7,500 rpm redline possible.
