Being a car and sports guy, I follow a lot of racing.
So for others who enjoy it, this thread is for you.

The start of racing season is around the corner,
with Daytona 500 not far away and F-1 as well.

F-1 are now doing their car releases for 2023
and of course all the new info, testing is in Early March,
we find out whos got what.

Post any racing news you wish to share here.

Disappointing that Kyle Busch didn't pick up the win, Wrecky Stenhouse had it pretty much handed to him by being in front when the caution lights came on. I think it would have been a different story if it had been a green flag finish.

But, a win is a win, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I’m disppointed Logano didn’t get it.
It sounded like Stenhouse would have been short on gas to make it all the way back if it had stayed green.

Last lap, long and wide track.
They sjould have let the handfull of leaders go to the finish.
I don’t think it would have affected the safety of the ones that were already wrecked.

Sometimes you got to be lucky to be good. 😉

I didn't find the Daytona quite as racy as it has been some years. Not much 3 car, and no 4 car deep racing. No edge of your seat, breath holding passes made. The end was anti-climatic.
I also think if it had gone the distance without the last caution, results would have been different. Nice to see a one car, budget team win. Take that Roger Penske...lol
Jimmy still has a race or two left in him by the look of it. Feel bad for Harvick being it's his last year.

First F-1 test tomorrow, we get first hint of who has what,
Bahrain is where testing is and also first race next weekend.

Unlike years in the past, they have very limited testing days,
so I expect much less sand bagging, so should be a few interesting stories tomorrow.

Well, more competitive for 3rd place on back.
Looks like top 2 spots spoken for by Red Bull.
I have trouble getting excited to watch a race only to see who gets third place.
The word parade comes to mind.

I hope it gets better in next few races, or I’ll be tuning out.

I got excited 2 and 3 years ago when Verstappen was coming for Hamilton.

Looks like we’re pretty much back to where we were back then only with a different team dominating.

Although, I got to hand it to Alonso.
He had a great race and gave the best entertainment of the whole event, in getting that third place. 👍

I tend to agree, some great racing from 3rd to 9th
upside unlike years ago, they are showing the battles.
years ago, you seen lead car 90% of time boring

Likes Red bulls are a long way out, testing had it closer

Villenuve - Peroni Story out, for those who know or remember Gilles.

He was what started me watching racing, incredible driver, life eneded far too soon.
First clip in documentary was of Gilles at AMP in Nova Scotia.
My first trip there with Hugh, ended up helping pit crew on car
and from there was hooked.

No network TV for me, most times I catch the highlights on youtube for the Cup races.

Lost interest in CART after Greg Moore passed away in '99.

Never had a huge interest in F-1, with the exception of the early to mid 90's.
