2018 Ford Mustang Pro Stock

Rough day at the track, Practice, 3 laps in car was poping out of 3rd
I brought it in, we got it in the air made some adjustments, looked like it would work.

Mitchell went out to Qualify, 1.5 laps in the yolk on front of rear end broke.
Whcih sent the drive shaft to side of track, Got towed back,
car in air, some spare parts gathered, was fixible but.

Oil tank had a huge dent in it, why it was not leaking was a surprise.
Safety hoop for drive shaft had two cracks in it, batter box fram was bent.
drive shaft by rights, should be re-balanced.
If car was fixed, we would have no test run, it would have been start at back of first race.
and hope for best, I decided to call it, as I did not want to do more damage or worse
cause a nightmare for another racer,

Sucks we didn't get to race, but the current fix is not to much work and relatively cheap
Unless I decide to upgrade reared
Likely pull transmission to cheak ring gears and realign to be safe.
Next race is end of August, so we have time.

Should have know after last weekend, to much good
life has to balance 😁
Thats not fun

Hope all goes well at the transmission shop - jumping out of gear is never a good thing
Its a Gerico so, we already know if its a problem, its one gear, maybe 2 and they are about $75 and a week away
we actually beleive the shifter was not aligned properly just took time to show up,
but won't know till we look and have to take out, to get cover off to see.
Once out we also chek and likely replace clutch pack, they are only 5" triple disc packs,
so not something that takes a lot of abuse, normally check off season and once a year.

So when all said and done, the cause of the everything coiming apart was rearend gears, only 3 races old, so
why no one knows, too rear end out, rebuilt gear set up, Fixed and rebalanced drive shaft and new ends
on drive shaft and rear end, Transmission, didn't have to come out, it was a shift level issues, fixed when in air,
Mike Mackenzie did rear end, set up rear done by him, everything back together and in my shop
last week, Up in air tires off Sunday morning few things done, Bill, Mitchell came over this evening,
did last checks on car, loaded trailer and set to go for weekend,

Last race weekend of the race series, the 3 hour endurance race is Sept 19 /20th this year,
so not sure what were doing there as I am in PEI, we will see.

Otherwise ready to go test sat afternoon and if all is well racing Sunday :)
