What did you do to your mustang today

As some of you know, the 2006 was throwing a code late last year which ended up being the alternator needing to be replaced. Funny thing is that it hasn’t thrown the code since it came out of storage. But since I’ve had the alternator for a few months now I decided today was the day. 4243EC0C-781A-4524-874C-3ADFA1B83739.jpegCE8DF6D8-5773-46C7-A41A-C24A6516866C.jpeg8E5A69FF-C1FF-4D14-8835-36430EDE7F38.jpeg9BD724DA-88BF-488E-B230-B783C2B11C5A.jpeg6F7F0962-F8DE-47E0-9401-3F92AAD02AFC.jpeg

Also took the time to clean up the throttle body and mass air flow sensor while it was apart. Overall not a difficult job and no codes after a run:D

This past Saturday, July 4th I got in the BULLITT to go for a Cruise and battery was dead. I knew it had been installed the year I bought the Car 2 months after I bought it in 2011. I checked the receipt, and sure enough it was installed 9 years earlier to the day on July 4th,2011. The Battery in the car was a NAPA Legend, so I immediately knew that I would replace it with the same.

I removed the battery and put it in the trunk of my daily driver and took the opportunity to clean the battery tray.

I picked up a new one at Napa this morning and I’m back on the Road ?11759879-4C05-4C06-8152-85F457A8DB84.jpeg2650FBEB-D6D8-4E1F-AE1A-9095B6AF6837.jpeg3DBCEAC4-9CC5-4718-B0D9-3D1A96A07EE3.jpeg1090F92A-F4C6-4C6E-978B-7DC2D722E56C.jpeg

Does anyone know if I can buy a complete preloaded rear end for a 2002 Mustang GT?I am at the end of my rope with this one.
yes ford performance seels them, can even order with torsion differential
quite the set up, to be honest, don't remember price but go to taylor for and check
tell them your a member here and maybe they will give you a bit of a break.
let us know, if you go down that road, curious on process and pricing.

Why not just change out the gears?
Pre-loaded will have everything.
Axle housing. Likely axles too.
You may be paying for a lot of stuff you fon’t need.
Unless your housing is shot, loaded unit may not be necessary.

If Taylor Ford can’t accommodate, Wood Motors in Fredericton has access to FP parts.

Just bought gears, locking differential clutches and bearing kit required for full rebuild for +/- $740. I cannot see a full preloaded unit even close to this, and then add the labor to install in the car...

Had the gears done 6-7000 kms ago.Always had hum between 60-80kms now at highway speeds it sounds like snow tires on back and thumps when shifting 3-4.
Not cool, have you checked with who did the install? That's why i used Downey Ford for the install so id have a warranty.. good luck

1st mistake was buying my own parts.2nd mistake was taking it to a transmission guy. They were motive gears who make some of the Ford Racing gears.I have an appointment at a custom shop next week.He thinks it may be a bad bearing.I can still drive it to Amherst this weekend.

I think it can be fixed cheaper than whole rear end set up.
frustrating for sure. but hopefully its not to bad and simple fix.

I have learned shimming these things is a bit like art work.
if the guy didn't instal right, it can cause problems.
hopefully no serious damage

I just supplied Gerry with coffee while he removed, cleaned and reinstalled the rear axle vent on my Mustang. There should be one arriving at Macphee ford in the next day or two
