Picked up a 2010 Hardtop GT

Well, as some have noted from a post I made on this site, I did get the stripe kit I had ordered on. I had ordered it from the Mustang Shop in Calgary. Took 2 months to come. It came in five pieces - the large centre piece, the two long pieces on each side of it, and the two pieces that go down from the hood onto each fender.

I did some reading and watched some videos, and thought how hard can it be to do striping. I followed the recommended vehicle prep and prepared the proper lubricating solution and started with the large hood piece. I had it 90% in place and smooth when I pulled a corner and stretched the vinyl - no good.

Another Mustang owner had used a Charlottetown company called Pressed 4 Time for striping last year and was very happy with their work. I went to the company and they had the exact colour 3M vinyl that I had f$#&ed up. I asked if they could duplicate the ruined piece and put the whole kit on, thinking it would be at least $500. I was very surprised when they quoted me $150 to make the new piece, and put it all on.

A week later they did it and I was very happy with their work, attitude, and price. The end result. Somethings are maybe best left to the professionals.

need to change the GT to KB
special edition

Been working on the car and I think I got the last few “kinks” worked out. Took the car for a good run yesterday and everything is working fine. Thinking this will be my ride for the upcoming NH run in about 10 days.

I’m already planning the mods for next winter. Hope to lower the car and hope to find some more power. Happy with where it is at so far.

Looking good.
Should be fun to row through the gears and hear the sound echo off the mountains.

For power in these cars, the easiest way and best return on investment is a super charger.

But you’ve already started down the N/A path with the JLT CAI you have installed.
If you wish to continue in that direction, the next best steps are Hot Rod cams and long tube headers first. Best results obtained with custom tune.
Then under drive pulleys, gears and throttle body. No particular order.
Throttle body will require updated tune so consider doing at same time as cams and LT’s so you only need to tune once.
Usually a TB with lesser quality air intake or absence of LT’s won’t return much on investment because not enough air passing through to fully optimize TB.
However, with the JLT and if cams and LT’s are present then there is more air passing which maximizes return of larger TB.
After JLT, cams and LT’s the stock TB becomes the smallest or choke point in you air flow system.

Pulleys and gears don’t require a tune.
Can be done independently any time.
For gears you use the tuner that you have already to tell the car which gears you have done.
