Picked up a 2010 Hardtop GT

New blend door actuator arrived and has been installed. Working great. Installed hood struts and removed the prop rod. Kit from Amazon did not come with the proper fittings for the hood end, so I had to “MacGyver” a solution using some drilled metal plates, some taped on bolts, a couple of large washers, and some string to hold it all in place until it was tightened.

Well, trips to the south over the winter have ended, and it is now the relatively short “get the stangs ready for the road” season, followed by Mustang season. A number of parts arrived for the 2010 including new headlights, front lip spoiler, and a stripe kit. A number of other parts are on the way.

Took the covers off the two cars today and let them run for a while and get up to operating temperature. Put a carbon fibre type sticker over part of the console to hide some old marks and scratches. Waiting for a new chrome grill pony that should be here any day. Bumper and grill will come off to replace the pony and headlights. That will be done before the front lip spoiler.

Bring on better weather.

Today was new headlights and new chrome pony day. Taking the bumper off should be a 10 minute job, but was almost two hours as the two screws on the passenger side fender well were stripped. Got one off fairly quick, and after working at the other with a dremel
tool and hack saw, without success, buzzed it off with an angle grinder.

Got it all back together and debated doing the front lip, but will leave that for another day.

That looks really good Kevin! Changes the front end for sure
Thanks, I like the overall look of the car, but did not like how much the bottom of the front bumper was set in. It made the car look like it has an "over bite" IMHO. This fixed that. I just added a rubber lip to the bottom of the lip spoiler. It will get something to rub before the spoiler.

First Mustang drive of 2025 today. I could not wait any longer. After yesterday’s snow had melted, roads were dry and relatively free of salt and sand, so rolled the 2010 out of the garage for the first time since November. CAI, tune, MBRP cat back exhaust, and a lot of cosmetics since then. Didn’t go very far, but car ran well and exhaust sounded great. Not too loud, but definitely “throaty” when you came on to it in third gear. As a result of tune and CAI, throttle response seemed better, and car seemed faster, but that is likely due to my imagination and diminishing memory. The new shifter grip is a big improvement over stock, and the mods are just about done for this season. Hopefully conditions will soon be fit for some longer drives. I stopped along the way and took a few pictures.

Still a lot of salt on the roads around Moncton and Shediac. :-(

After the snow yesterday, the rain came and the roads are bare and dry again this morning. Someone asked what the car sounded like with the new exhaust and CAI. I think that it sounds much better than stock, but not too loud, if there is such a thing. A video does not capture the true sound. I apologize for the shaky video. By the end of third gear, I was getting close to excessive speeds and let off.
