Thought of the day.

Think you’ve driven a lot of Shelby Mustangs? Have you heard of Bob Lee⁉️

In 1965, Lee worked Quality Control on the GT350 program at Shelby American.

His job? Take each newly completed GT350 out, drive it behind the blast wall, put it through two laps, and then park it in those famous rows of finished cars waiting for shipment.

Lee later recalled that he worked virtually every day that year — meaning he likely drove almost every street 1965 GT350 Shelby American built.

And apparently a normal test drive wasn’t always enough.

Lee remembered occasionally pitching a GT350 up onto the angled blast wall during his quality-control runs.

Imagine that being your job in 1965:

Clock in.
Grab the keys to another brand-new GT350.
Test it.
Park it.
Walk back and grab another one.

All. Day. Long.

Just another day at Shelby American.

How many people today can say they drove more original ’65 GT350s than Bob Lee?
