A fee minutes ago in my backyard.
This is common in BC where Bill lives but not in my parts unless you feed them, which I don’t.
They just sauntered up from the woods.

On Vancouver Island for some reason we only have Columbia blacktail deer. They are quite common, and at times areal nuisance to out garden and fruit trees.
BC's mainland has mule and white-tail species, but the southern coastal regions are mainly blacktail as well. Would those you've pictured be Mule deer?

I have never seen a black tail deer, not sure they exist here.
White tail is the common.
and they love gardens here too.
