Thought of the day.

Got letter from my former employer Friday.
Seems they omitted to deduct my share of pension contribution from my last paycheck last summer.
They're asking for a check of nearly $460.00. Ouch! I'm on fixed income now...
I briefly thought to myself, "their mistake, they should cover it".
Then reality and common sense kick in and my little voice echo's "yah, good luck with that!"
Check was mailed yesterday.
Win some, lose some.

Down in Yarmouth for Seafest.
Looks like a Mustang show with a few others thrown in

Showers up north yesterday and today, so no Mustang.
Cut a few trees out from under my power line.
Took a bunch of take off parts to the recycler Friday.
Been accumulating for past 11 years.
Made a whopping $60.00 bucks out of about $5000.00 worth of parts.
Not fair. :(

You sure don't.
Going by my receipt, it's roughly 10 cents a pound for scrap metal. I had about 440 pounds of that for $44.00.
I had a tiny bit of copper which is about $2.27 a pound. That got me $8.00.
And aluminium pays the best at about $5.90 a pound. They gave me just over $7.00 for this.
They docked me on the aluminum because it was mixed with a few plastic and metal bits.

Then today the guys from Woodbridge Ford in Calgary called me and left a message with something like “someone is really interested in buying a car just like yours and I’m approved to pay top dollars for your car”...Between that and the Canada revenue scam guys and the Nigerian prince that write me every week...I feel a really lucky guy.
BTW We moved from Calgary in January and the car was bought at that dealer. This days dealers will use any tricks to sell you a new car, but feels like a scam when they come to buy your car for 2/3 market value and they called “top dollars”

Must be going around, my sister in Sarnia got a call from the local dealer she hasn't dealt with in almost five years, and they were saying they were looking for used 2013 Ford Focus Titaniums in the worst way, and would pay "top dollar" for hers.

The worst, and most infuriating part of the whole thing is what law enforcement says is painfully true, that the elderly are susceptible to these scams. Anything where they can call and put a time pressure, and that things have to be settled immediately or suffer the consequences, should be immediate red flags. Or if they ask for personal info. I keep telling my sister to just hang up, its all BS.

I tend to be a little obnoxious when those calls come in, they don't usually last that long. lol
