Thought of the day.

So we finally got our 2003 back on the road today…….. for those that don’t know here is a shortened version…… we stored it for the winter in Oct 2019, but then due to COVID and reasons I won’t go into we were unable to retrieve the car until spring this year. So it has been sitting for 2 years and 8 months, with a battery tender, full tank of fuel with additive Etc.

After checking, the fuel seemed ok still, so I started it up….. and it started pretty easily…… reversed it out and it seemed happy idling. Left it a couple of minutes, then tried to go for a drive. First incline it died and would not restart. Put a scanner on it, P019 Fuel rail sensor, usual causes fuel filter or fuel pump, but other possibles as well.

Sourced a new fuel filter, jacked up the back end and changed it. While still jacked up, tried to start again and it starts and runs fine. Put it back on the ground and it won’t start. So I am thinking it’s likely the fuel pump.

Managed to get it to a mechanic today, and it now has a new fuel pump and is working well!!!!
So Christine is very happy to have her Mustang back on the road.

So we did what anyone would do and went for a cruise!!!!
