Thought of the day.

Crazy night last night, with it being wet, then flash freeze, then rain, then freeze.
SO I spent the night driving around salting, got home 5 am, slept a couple hours, more work
and then venture off shopping LOL. Shopping wasn't bad, traffic was insane.

I know I am one of the few looking forward to a green christmas :)

Actually It doesn't bother me, Malls weren't to bad, but not like the old days.
Half the mall was filled with women, years ago it was just guys, doing the last minute thing.
Looks like I am done, regardless of what I think I need LOL.

Now I have to wrap stuff, fun, fun, fun :)

No Title

Received a lot of awesome gifts (very lucky guy I am) and got to hide some gifts on Karen (even more fun doing that) but one gift from my parents I was especially fond of. Limited edition 50th Anniversary Boss 429 in 1:12th scale. Numbered, certiicate of authenticity and looks awesome in my man cave. Very cool!!!

Boxing day, the day after we ate to much, open cool gifts and with any luck played with them :)
Today we sit around and only do the minimal and get ready to eat to much again:)
Few people will visit today and help us eat to much :)

As traditional as turkey is on Christmas day, hot turkey sandwiches and french fries,
on boxing day is tradition in my house.
I think also bacon wrapped scollops, I see a date with sofa later today.

Followed by World Juniors tonight @8 Canada Versus Russia, Classic battle.

What will you do on this fine day ?

You could be busy through the night by the looks of things.

Yes looks like shit show, 5-10cm starting around midnight, switching to rain around 5 am.
-9 today, +9 tomorrow. I am happy, got through Christmas, all my guys were home for Christmas.
So now all is good :)

Laid back Christmas around my home this year, and I loved it!

Normally we have company or extended family come for turkey dinner. This means the wife puts out all her fancy china and silverware, cloth napkins, 3 different glasses, cups and saucers for coffee, bread plates, multiples of silverware. Then there's the plates of pickles, olives, smoked oysters, etc. etc.. The cooked items, veggies, stuffing, gravy, etc., are all transferred from the pots, and into serving dishes..
It's all very nice and elegant, but it takes days to clean it all up, and put it all away.

This year there was three of us, my son being the third. We still had the traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, as we couldn't miss that. This year we could just help ourselves directly from the pots, using our daily use china, and silverware, consisting of one knife, one fork. We used paper napkins, skipped the pickle's and olives, etc., altogether, and sat at TV tables, while watching "Christmas with the Cranks".
The food was put away, and the dish's and kitchen clean up was all done in about 20 minutes, We skipped coffee, and had desert later that evening.

I enjoy having company over for Christmas, but I admit this was actually a very nice change from the usual hectic pace.

We had similar Christmas, its nice and peaceful, that night and next day, wife made enough
food for an army, because we were visiting and have visitors. Silly how much we go out of way
for friends LOL.

As I read Maritimemustang.com drinking coffee and eating Christmas cookies :(
The wife bough big tin, 3 layers of Christmas cookies and also cooked enough food
for about 80-90 people  this is normal for her, but it means I eat like I might never eat again.
My goal is to have all the Junk gone by the New year, then read her the riot act and not
buy, make or cook like I am malnourished. This might help in my goal of losing 20 lbs.
Might be 22-23 by January first LOL

yes true, for me a bit of both, I normally eat pretty decent.
I also used to work out few times a week, stop those things
and undesired effect takes place LOL.
Christmas is tough. I decided to give myself a few days.
Still seeing people for dinner's etc. So enjoy.
New year get back in the grove.

Wife and I spent a Nice Christmas with our youngest Son who lives near Corner Brook. As one of my Cousins lives 10 minutes from him, we got together Christmas Eve at her Place with her Friends and family. It snowed a little every day we were there (23rd thru 28th). Return Flight was only delayed an hour.
