Actually, in this case we should not be too hard on car folks.
GM frames are known to rot out fast within the industry.

I think Toyota has a big frame problem at the moment.
Not sure of the years, but replaces alot on tacomas.

Both my brother and I had early 80's Toyota pickups that both broke in half while out playing.

Ya people don't check and folks get whole new frame installed for free.
or market value buy back, then they fix.
I have heard of that here to, not sure if now
but last fall drive by Toyota dealer and out back to stacks of frames.
10-12 each stack, not a small problem.

Happened to my Brother in Law’s 10 year old pick up back in the 90’s.

Was in for Annual NB Inspection and as the Hoist locked, the Frame Broke.

The Garage owner gave him $500.
