NHL 2025-26 Season

Montreal has 1 game left in Regular Season.

Playoffs are set, now a few games left to determine home ice
or who plays who.

Montreal is playing Tampa, win to night, they have home ice,
don't win, then Tampa has to lose. Playing Philly who just got in and playing hot,
could be good game, I guess it depends on teams and players with 1-2 games left.

Caufield is 1 goal behind Mackinnion with 1 game left.
Nate has 2 left, so Caufield needs atleast one, few would be better 😁

Regular season is over Wednesday, should have playoff schedule by Thursday,
Playoffs start this weekend.

As I watch the Habs first game
I realize something, I have to listen to the idiots for Sportsnet, with the leafs out
We get the full staff, announcers to the
Panel between periods.

Kevin is only one I can listen to
Friedman is a pre Madonna
Maclean is a weasel

The refs feel like they need to be most important people in the game
Going to be a long playoffs

I miss TSN crew

First round is almost done, Hab-lightning game 7 tonight.

Colorado beat Kings in 4

Minnesota over Stars in 6

Vegas beats Mammoth in 6

Ducks beat oilers in 6

Carolina of Ottawa in 4

Philly over Pittsburg in 6

Buffalo over Bruins in 6

First game of round two.

Round 2 Canes 3 - Philly 0

Interesting side note about NHL
I noticed watching games back in january,
whoever takes care of shot count, changes it now.
So if the shot on net would have missed the net, the remove the shot.

Also if the shot was a soft floater from neutral zone and goalie has to stop
but a 5 year old could have saved it, they remove the shot.

At end of season the NHL announced the lowest Gooalie save % on average
in the league. I chuckled thinking if you remove the metrics, then of what was a shot, but told nobody,
then guess what folks are saying WOW. then of course there also glaring mistakes.

Great example: ( Keep in mind I watch the score board during games, likely from playing all my life)
So shots between tampa and Montreal for most part were close and low shots compared to regular season.
In the first Montreal had 4 shots on board in Tampa zone great shot, never got put on the board.
They gave it to Tampa, they had 8 up, now 9 It was never corrected.
they should have had 7 maybe 8 shots.

Montreal was brutal in 2nd but they did have 3 shots on net, in fairness
not great shots, but legit. there over all numbers for game should have been 4-5 more
this hurts vasilesky the most and maybe makes montreal look a bit lucky.

I am shocked none of announcers or experts between periods pick up on this
I mean some played pro hockey or like other things told to keep mouth shut?

I agree with the shot counter Trevor. Never really paid much attention to the missed ones on the regular season. Definitely noticed them in that game.

Oh well regardless of shots I am looking forward to the buffalo matchup.
