Mustang Trivia.

Well the grill and hood are quite different
heat extractors in 2013
grill can remove fake fog lamp covers for more air.

but sort of covered that that with new grill, hood, front end etc.
other than that not sure.

You got it.
I was looking for the removable fog light covers.
I did not give it to you first time because I had said in my question that front facia was different and was looking for functional difference.
“New grill and hood”, I was not sure you knew covers were removable.

Next question.

I really need to read this stuff better, I was looking over everything else lol.
Figured wasn't front end :)

the 2016 gt 350 had 2 versions and you had to choose to get options.
They had one major fault / complaint. and in 2017 they changed this and the car
came with same set up and options to add.

what was the part missing that caused all the problems?

Ok, in 2016 you either chose track pack or technology pack.
The problem was they could not be combined.
In 2017, the track pack became standard on all 350’s and now you could add the technology pack to a track pack car because they were now all track pack.
They also changed the name of said technology pack to convenience pack.
Then they made available the Electronics pack to 350 buyers.
Before that the electronics pack was a 350R only option.
Some rabbit hole.
I’m confused just writing this.

But as far as what specific part caused an issue, I wasn’t in the market so I have no clue.
I would have been all over the travk pack, no questions asked.

Going by what you said, “track pack had it and tech pack didn’t” And you said “think specific part”. I’ll guess rear spoiler or drive mode selector.
I think those were only on the track pack.

I doubt it would have been the transmission, diff coolers or heavy duty front suspension that made a difference to the buyers that selected tech pack over track pack as some of them would not know what those are.

And Americans being Americans, they probably all wanted a spoiler just for overcompensation’s sake.

So spoiler, first final answer.
Drive mode selector, second final answer.

Ok, you actually said it and like my struggles, no one else is playing so.
I will give you hints. Your insights are correct
First it has to do with drive train.
Track pack had it and tech didn't,
Ford eliminated the tech pack because of this.

If I said it and track pack had it and tech pack didn’t and it’s drivetrain related, I’ll try the coolers.
Engine. transmission and rear diff.
I know transmission and rear diff was only available with track pack.
Not 100% on engine cooler.
it’s possible they both had an engine cooler as even base GT has engine oil cooler.

I will give it to you, it was the transmission cooler.
It caused a major stir, especially in the southern states
where it is much hotter. The car in all its version was
advertised as a track monster and the tech pack would go into limp mode
after 10-12 minutes, transmission couldn't handle the heat.
North of the border less of a concern as its cooler and less were taking to tracks.

To the point where some were demanding ford offer fix for free, to companies and people
designing and adding their own. Ford fixed the problem in 2017 but including all coolers and
even changed the wing, so all were track packs, and options came in seating etc.

All that said, your turn, hopefully someone else will get in the game lol.
ask away.
