Help please..2002 GT Convertible Handling Issue.

I have a 04 cobra it is essentially the same front suspension as yours except struts I had the same problem I changed the tie rods outer. and the sway bar bushing. Now one thing that really throws off your steering is inner tie rods if they are wore out they bolt rite into the rack get em checked.

What you describe, especially when going over potholes etc, sounds somewhat like a condition called bump-steer. Has there been any non-stock steering or suspension components added? Any lowering? Tire or wheel size other than stock sizes?

Its really not easy to describe the condition, at least without typing a thousand words, so here are a couple of explanations that might give you some ideas of what may be happening.

Thanks for the info links. The car has not been lowered and is all stock right now so going to replace shocks and struts as first step as they are original with over 60000 miles. Not leaking but likely just really tired out! Thinking of lowering in the future fo this info will be good to have.

Actually just got it back from the Ford dealer. Replace original shocks and struts with Eibach Pro Dampened. Tech said the old bushings in struts snd shocks were done and the units were weak or soft. Have not had time yet to go for a good test drive but here is hoping. If that foes not work the I will be looking to the other suggestions. TX
