Who or where is the best place to get a CAI a throttle body and the intake installed in Saint John

About how many dineros$$?

Need it done before Louden it is a 2000 Gt 4.6

It won’t hurt it to wait for a tune? Will it?

Depending which CAI you chose, you may want to take it with you and have Pete throw it on before he does your tune.

If it’s low capacity/volume unit, not much issue. But why get it then?

If it’s a large capacity unit at minimum you will have a check engine all the way down.
At worse it could cause some detonation because air fuel ratio will be lean.
Extreme case, maybe it throws car in limp mode.
This is assuming you don’t have a tune to get you there
Do you have a tuner with canned tunes already or are you getting from Pete?

Since you’re planning the trip anyway, my advice would be to call Pete, buy it from him and it will be there when you get there.

Pete will drive you crazy getting ahold of him, so be a little persistent
but once you meet him, he is great guy and will get you where you need to be.

I joke every year setting up run and arranging with him, makes my head hurt.
but he is a great guy, who is straight up and does great work.
so always makes it worth the effort :)

When I had my setup installed, I swallowed the $150 USD for a custom e-tune from steeda .com. Wasn’t perfect, but got the job done to get to Pete for a proper dyno tune. I cheaped out & didn’t replace a battery. If Gerry isn’t making the run, get your charging system checked before the trip. Bought that tee-shirt once!

If you have or buy a SCT tuner, pete can send you a tune to safely make the trip.
you can buy can tune, which will work, but he will do as well.
Also Pete uses SCT tuners, you will have to have one or I will let him know
who needs one, to make sure he is set for out visit.

He hasn’t returned an email or voicemail so far

Pete in Louden NH is closed and not responding to messages until June 01, his voice mail - Cody at Batten in Bangor has too much work booked for summer - guess the CAI and Throttle body will have to wait

I will reach out to Pete. there is still solutions,
Can tune will get you to Petes. let me see what I can find out.

I reached out to Pete, also was texting with Josh
who does the chevy dynos, he will speak to Pete as well.
Lots of time to sort it out and I have other solutions
if needed,

We will get it sorted out one way or another :)

If you can’t buy it from Pete, get it elsewhere and take it with you.
If you know anyone in Maine on the way, something like Bangor, you could have it shipped there to pick up on the way and save on shipping from the big guys like American Muscle or CJ Pony parts.

You can install it there yourself while others are getting dynoed ahead of you.

Not hard to install.
Many have done so before.
Especially if Gerry or Al are there.
They have handled a wrench or two in their day.

But also, like Trevor says, if you have a canned tune or two to chose from in your SCT, that’s enough to get you there.

Several solutions.

Positive thoughts your way.
Good luck.
