So during my Covid downtime I am rebuilding a 96 F150. Just to ensure all is good when the safety time comes up, I was checking the Official Inspection Station Manual for Nova Scotia. I wonder how many times this had to be found on vehicles before it was needed in the document.

Done that for many years , seemed to work fine back in the 80's and 90's to give a little lift in jeeps and trucks .. seems the pucks aren't made as good as they used to be ??

Yup I’ve seen my share of them - some in one piece - some in many pieces. When you drill a hole in them they tend to split in two and fall out. Many new ones are a mix of rubber and plastic / recycled stuff.

I had an old pickup with a home built wooden box that was mounted on hockey pucks, I remember a mechanic doing a MVI on it thought it was a cool idea. How things have changed

Is there anything that says that pop cans can’t be used as exhaust pipe repairs anymore?

Btw, this does actually exist, in Hemel Hempstead, UK and another one very similar in Essex UK.
